Which is better because he's not a CM. The problem still remains that the lone striker up top is Mbappe who doesn't seem to want to learn how to play as one and also doesn't have the physical attributes to play as one.
Mbappe can't link up anywhere close to Benz, but is he much different from Higuain though? Pipita also wasn't a target man ST holding up the ball against strong CBs, but would get into scoring positions a lot. He would convert a lot in league games and miss majority of the chances in big games. Mbappe against Bayern was like that. He scored 2 and had other 4-5 chances over two legs so off the ball movement wasn't the issue.
All of these midfielders need to be sold, they are awful,2 years are enough Rodri,Bernardo Silva,Tonalli,Stiller this club needs a fn new midfield I will take all of these players, cash in on our frauds and spend big
I can see the comparison between Pipita and Mbappe in that sense but they're very different types of strikers. Pipita wasn't a slow player before that knee injury but he was far more intelligent as a runner and with his positioning. More of a fox-in-the-box. Again, Mbappe plays like a LWF at CF. He uses his speed and strength while running to overwhelm. He has little positional intelligence, although it seems he has worked on that from his first season. Pipita is a traditional striker more in his earlier days before the injuries caught up to him. Mbappe plays as an inverted winger in the CF position.
I don't think Mbappe is the main problem with the team. I feel our defense has been subpar. We need two CB's and a RB. If Ceballos leaves, I am going for Stiller, he can't do worse and would be a good option for the squad given his profile. MF needs steel, I would go for Eliot Anderson as well. We need a proper bench, given our injury history and the lack of competition. Tchou, Fede, Stiller, Eliot Anderson, Camavinga, Pitarch, Jude, sounds good for cover and rotation. Let Paz, Jude (if he does not want to play as an 8) and Arda fight it out for the AM position. Arda can do well as a RM too. I think Carreras is a decent LB, however I don't think he should be starting at all. Same goes for Trent, I don't care how good of a passer he is. Its that defense that's the main problem for me and ofc players attitudes. Fede should be stripped of the captain armband as well. Mbappe/Vini thing needs to be sorted, If one needs to be sold, so be it. Mbappe can't lace Benzema's shoes for me, Vini has regressed. I don't subscribe to "Player FC" I would sell everyone if the team wins.
Player sales this summer likely according to Guillermo Rai from The Athletic. 🚨 JUST IN: Real Madrid believe this is a moment for transitioning to take place. Sources with internal knowledge of the club's planning have said that they need to players this summer in order to make signings. — @GuillermoRai_ pic.twitter.com/4KSTJbcdvh— Madrid Universal (@MadridUniversal) May 10, 2026
Yeah we need upgrades in current positions so it makes sense we have to sell to buy. Some on the first team are not good enough and they won’t want to be bench players at this stage of their careers. I also hope it means it’s a wink that we’re open to selling Vini for a big fee.
Sell sell just sell But the club has to be realistic about the prices of the players...asking 80/90 million for Rodrygo was pure stupidity,60 million for Gonzalo....I mean come on These players are not worth that much after these 2 seasons.....just sell even if the money don't look that great
I dont think we gonna sell much..some will run out of contract, some will be aold with re purchase but I dont expect 100M€ in sales..realistically 60-70M€..Alaba has a huge contract and he will save a lot on budget for wages aswell as Carvajal
All of the ins are better passers, more press resistant, work harder and press more and are more professional and less egoistical than the outs... And based on their profiles would have much better synergy and make a team that could cover for Mbappe and get the best out of him. But sure, its my ball knowledge that is lacking
The player quality doesn't matter, you're not going to do all that business in a world cup year, ins and outs will have you spending hundreds of millions in agent fees and bonuses. That's why I consider all those "how I would fix this club" stuff pretty unrealistic
I'll be honest, I don't follow most of the players you listed so closely. That said, I presume this is a "wish list" and you understand that it won't happen under Perez.
It wouldn't happen anywhere really, even in the Premier league with PSR now things are far from the usual coming and going we had.
Not true, it happens in Italy a lot. It happens in the Premier league too. Man City bought six players this year: Ait Nouri, Cherki, Donnarumma, Semenyo, Reijnders and Guehi. Clubs which have a need to do it, do it. We have the need too and badly, we just refuse to recognize it. The scenario has five players sold and five players bought. Its not exactly science fiction, but were still stuck on the notion that these players are some outworldly talents in the face of all the evidence of the opposite.
Is City also refinancing loans to a tune of almost 2 billion euro for a stadium renovation project which failed to reach revenue projections due to construction malfunction and cost inflation? Cherki and Bellingham are not in the same tax bracket. Wages, transfer fees, bonuses included you're surely looking at 200 million total expenditure on a player with constant injury worries.
There are influential players in the Real Madrid dressing room who are asking the club to let Valverde go this summer. It's a very delicate matter to handle given Valverde's history at Real Madrid.
Valverde should not leave the club. Even if you're disappointed by him he's still a player you want in your team.
The club that is supposedly looking for players that run hard and work a lot is looking to move one of the only that does. Meanwhile the Ibiza boys are already on their 3 days vacation, this was so hard on them to play through this Sunday.
Insanity, dump Fede and bring back Moooo, because....... waaaah we didn't win anything this season, meh
Welcome to a hyper annoying click bait summer. Two years of not winning anything, dressing room problems, etc.
Do you think Fede and Tchou can go back to what their relationship was once after getting knocked out?
There's a chance one or more players return from the world cup with a doctor's notice for a year out of football. Meaning every discussion right now is kind of irrelevant.
