He comes across as someone who is smart and is confident about his career trajectory. No way he wants to come back
His father is involved, they had a lot of pressure to play for Spain and chose Argentina instead. Even when the son spoke positively about Madrid the father usually chimed in with a "We'll do what's best".
I'm imagining what a back line of Carreras Huijsen Schlotterbeck Trent would look like. On paper world class on the ball, but concerning defensively
Maybe for a stretch of 5-10 games but not for mid or long-term. The guy suffered 3 major knee injuries in 3 seasons.
I think Huijsen and Schlotterb are very similar in the way they defend, obviously the German is miles ahead..
LOL at the "new" signings, one of them a returning player on loan. Who potentially would get buried again in the rotation. And another #10 to be shoehorned into an 8.
Gotta get high on copium somehow. I wouldn't be surprised if Florentino and his lackeys say "run it back, this time they'll stay healthy" and just yeet the next unfortunate manager into next season.
Transfer rumors and referee conspiracy theories basically the only response the club has at this point.
I think Schlotterbeck is a good additional option at logical cost, if that's a starter for us we're not really improving, mostly staying in place. I don't hear anything exciting about the clubs future at the moment.
Agreed. I would be excited if the Schlotterbeck was the second CB signing....next to true tier 1 CB. That would be exciting. Huijsen/Militao/Asencio should be fighting for spot 3 and 4.
I wouldn't count on Militao for anything. Dude is basically finished given his injury history. We should just accept it and move on from him.
I am one of the few who still has faith in Militao considering how good he looked before getting hurt again .
At this point i'm not sure Dean has proven he's that good "on" the ball either, too many errors so far this season maybe the magnitude of the club and the job got to him a bit, but it's still a bit early for him he has to do better though IMO, both mentally and physically, knowing he was never quick i really thought his positional sense would be better too, i think he still has a lot to prove at Madrid Response to what?, being 4 points off the lead and still in the CL?, or just the fact that the team isn't playing well at the moment, playing poorly in March and still in with a shot at winning something isn't the worse place i've seen this team in, i can think of many clubs who'd love that, but i suppose the faint of heart have already given up, for various reasons no doubt, don't like the "dumb lazy" players, don't like Flo, don't like Alvaro, crying for Xabi....who knows.....
if he's part of the backups...worth it....he can give us 20-25 games, he'd be great in the rotation. just don't count on him as a starter.
Seeing Endrick make the most of his opportunity with Lyon has been exciting (last night notwithstanding), particularly since he is doing so at RW.
Have to agree, and I’m not one to write off the rest of someone’s career because of an injury. But at this point, he should not be penciled in as a starter and the club should properly reinforce with 2 starters plus Huijsen and Militao if the options make sense.
Response to getting knocked out of the Copa by a guy that changes windshield wipers as his main source of income for one.
I do not watch Schlotterbeck, but his injury record is bad. https://www.transfermarkt.com/nico-schlotterbeck/verletzungen/spieler/388198
He's finished at the elite level. He starts for City, but Pep isn't as reliant on him as he used to be.
