Paz will be joining for a starting role and I feel RM won't meet Vini's financial demands regardless of who's our coach next season.

 

Feels like desperate attempt at getting fans/media off the bad form.

 

Doubt majority socios even follow Paz at Como. Him returning was pretty much decided when 70 M bid from Spurs was rejected by all 3 parties in the summer.

Mario again rebuffed JFD regarding Vini renewal yesterday detailing the complications of a renewal due to financial demands and relationship with the coach.

Paz is an obvious signing. There could be a ST/winger being targeted if we are moving on from Vini. Rodrygo situation has only gotten worse due to non-performance as LW.

 

Brother, I'm pretty sure a couple of "stars" will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

I don't see us moving for Paz in the winter, Perez reportedly mentioned something in the past (on getting Fran Garcia in the winter; Cama played at LB instead) of not wanting to disturb/offend the clubs mid season

I'm not so sure where Paz fits anyway, it'll complicate the Bellingham-Guler positioning situation further.

Anyone know if Nico Paz can play the conductor role that Kroos/Modric played for us in the last CL winning season? Then I imagine a midfield would be him, Tchouameni, Valverde, and Bellingham. If Valverde keeps dropping stinkers it might open up for Arda in there instead.

Paz has 5 goals and 4 assists in the league. We could use such productivity in attack.

 

Paz is a CAM. We currently have an abundance of CAMs in the squad (Guler, Bellingham, Diaz) so I don't know exactly how the board thinks Paz will fit in our squad. So many bad decisions in the last period. I don't like the direction in which this club is going.

 

Diaz shouldn't be considered when Paz is much superior player. Sell him like Callejon if needed. Only Jude is undroppable starter from that list.

 

Paz and Guler have basically the same stats, and play in almost identical positions on the field, it’s a shame Paz isn’t more of a natural central midfielder that can slot in that position more quickly.

I haven’t been able to really tell which of Jude or Guler we’re looking to play in the deeper position when both play, they do get in each others way often.

I’ve watched Paz three times this season, he does drop back to build play but so does Guler. Just not consistently enough, this applies to both.

And, I don’t feel like Camavinga is going to step up. He does so much dumb shit or takes really really bad touches way too often, it’s worrying.

A couple years ago I thought a midfield of Tchouameni, Camavinga, Valverde, Jude would run riot. Not anymore.

 

Midfielders with Fede's level of workrate like Essien, Kante didn't age well. We moved on from Casemiro when he was close to 30.

Tcho has been great as traditional DM. Having creative and press resistant midfielders around him should be the way to go.

 

Or he'd be sold at the right time with a younger replacement like Casemiro sale.
