This is a good place to start. Shame how it ended, especially with him scoring in the first leg.

I agree 100%. Nobody has represented like Gente, but he's gotten too slow as the years have gone by. It's a shame he's not having his contract extended after being demoted to the B2.

    Zieler is gone.
    Aogo is gone.
    Beck is gone.
Honestly, I wouldn't want Beck in the BL, but in BL2 all three of these guys would have been useful. And Zieler is going to Hannover who were relegated along with us. It's now our job to finish above them.

We had better start signing players like crazy. If we start an extended stay in BL2, I'm going to have to change how I think of this club - just like everyone else already has.

Kabak signs with Schalke. I hope we're paying to get promoted. Against BL teams like Hannover and HSV that's what it will take. Last time we signed Terodde, who was a proven BL2 commodity. I haven't seen that commitment this time around, yet. Worrying.

I've seen a lot of young kids listed as transferring in, but not any veterans from the BL2. It is worrying.

That's a nice list. I would add that Pablo Maffeo is loaned back to Girona - hopefully, never to wear a VfB shirt again.

Does anyone know if we have a good team for 2.BL or not? I assume Dietrich can't afford to not be promoted, and we have the money, but I have no idea. I'd wish that Dietrich is out anyway, but I've heard that is unlikely.

Apparently, Thommy and Ailton are on the way out too. Ten is an impressive turnover, although a couple of those were end-of-loan.

No Baumgartl? Awoudja might be his replacement if he goes to Werder. It would be a shame to lose a young local talent, but that's the kind of thing that happens when you mis-manage yourself into 2.BL. I also read that Donis is already going to Frankfurt.

I checked the values on the new arrivals and nobody is worth a lot except Kobel (better than Zieler, LOL). Kaminski and Stenzel should also be good for 2.BL. As unimpressed as I was, our total squad value is clearly the best in the Zweite Bundesliga:

    1. VfB.............€90m
    2. Hannover........€60m
    3. HSV.............€50m
    4. Nürnberg........€37m
    5. everyone else...<€20m

Baumgartl might still be recuperating from a knock. I haven't seen anything about him transferring, but that doesn't mean that he won't either. Like you say, when you mismanage your squad and get demoted, folks don't tend to want to stick around.

Wow, Dietrich is actually raus. He's blaming the angry and vocal supporters who were verging on violent for disrupting the normal running of the club - So, I guess we should thank them! Some may say three years was too few, but he did not stop the revolving door of managers, and we did not build on our safe season after coming back up. The football side might not be the bulk of his job, but that is the side you absolutely have to get right or it will ruin everything else, and it has. Aufwiedersen, Wolfgang Dietrich.

Jürgen Klinsmann has been suggested by Buchwald. Not the strongest choice, in my opinion, but it could have momentum.
