Presale tickets for Cincy and Cleveland opened up today and start at $27 and $25, respectively. Still trying to decide if we take my daughter down/up on a school night for one of these. Figure them coming into town will be fewer and further between.
I think we're going to do one. I'm assistant coaching a game same night as the Cincy game, but it is closer for us. Just saw Crew season ticket holders are now also eligible for pre-sale to these games. So my US Soccer supporters pre-sale only gave me 24 hours before expanding to other pre-sales
A presale for an event like this doesn't get one much--there will be plenty of seats. This tour should be sponsored by Geritol.
I had multiple days to submit for the USMNT vs Costa Rica WCQ. Actually Cincy looked to be mostly sold as of late last night. My guess is FCC ticket holders got their pre-sale yesterday too. I didn't realize, Crew season ticket pre-sale was only for Cleveland, not for Cincy. Cleveland still had plenty of seats, so we're headed up North
I'm actually curious about Cleveland sales. Did they- or will they- offer pre-sale to Browns STM's? You gotta figure at least SOME of them would be interested.
The old “let’s try to make the men’s team the bad guys again”:routine. https://www.espn.com/soccer/united-...-to-divide-fifa-world-cup-prize-money-equally
I don't understand this at all. The MNT and the WNT aren't a married couple; they don't have joint property. Why is it the Federation's responsibility, or the MNT's, to subsidize the women's team because FIFA doesn't pay them enough? And who gets paid with this agreement? Just the players who make the World Cup squads, or everyone who played in qualifiers? And suppose the unthinkable happens, and the men don't qualify again. Can you imagine the hell that would be raised when the WNT has to take $2M of their $4M and give it to the men's team?
First it’s we were not offered the same deal as the men. Now it’s we were offered the same as the men PLUS A TREMENDOUS CUT OF WHAT FIFA AND FIFA ALONE ALLOCATES TO THE MEN. Still not good enough. Because, you know,, equality and stuff. And automatic salary for playing in a league. And 401K and stuff. In a completely closed system that blocks advancement of any player under 30.
And that leaves aside the fact that 22 women are still demanding that a 501.c.3 organization hand over more money than they actually have, thereby bankrupting a charity whose mission is to support all soccer players in the US so that they can all pocket 3 million bucks.
I think this should become a trend. I want to say that I think Les Wexner should equalize his income with mine.
Well, that is an idea that's been floated around. "Fairness", you know.... That's where you get the current term of "income inequity" that's in vogue in some circles. But that's really only a fancy way of saying "If I have it, it's fair. If I don't have it, it's unfair. And If someone else has it and I don't it's really unfair." In practice, as the Soviet Union found out, it means everyone becomes equally poor. Mind you, in China, OTOH, that was a step up for many peasants after WW II.
Might have to do with getting paid by the Fed to play for a (US) club team, as I think is currently the practice. I could see where that would go away.
oh I'm 100% sure that's what this is. they don't want to give up their guaranteed salary contracts with their NWSL teams.
