The Bush-lied crowd trivializes themselves while making it impossible to discuss real issues in a reasonable manor. I think is ridiculous to go over the reasons for the war now as they were plain as day and obvious to all. Those in denial will remain in denial. Here is what Senator McCain says,

But there is still a reasonable question. Why were US estimates of the weapon's programs found to be so wrong? This is deserves a non-partisan congressional inquiry and for individuals in the government to be held accountable. Senator McCain also says,

I think this will be one of the most interesting stories of this century. So what do you think happened to the WMD's?

(Forget about using "Bush lied". It makes a person look foolish.)

And what happened to that uranium from Niger, huh?

I'm surprised McCain slept through the presentation of Commie traitor (and now homeless unemployed bum) David Kay. From his report - ya know, the one conservatives think proved Saddam was a threat?

    http://www.cia.gov/cia/public_affairs/speeches/2003/david_kay_10022003.html

Multiple sources with varied access and reliability have told ISG that Iraq did not have a large, ongoing, centrally controlled CW program after 1991. Information found to date suggests that Iraq's large-scale capability to develop, produce, and fill new CW munitions was reduced - if not entirely destroyed - during Operations Desert Storm and Desert Fox, 13 years of UN sanctions and UN inspections.

But that was only an interim report, and I’m sure the full report will - wait, stop the presses:

So the search for Iraq WMD is such a high priority that they're effectively cancelling the mission halfway through. EXCELLENT work, Mr. Kay. Kool-Aid?

    PS, Bush lied.

    Why?

Because the son wanted revenge for his father's loss?
Either they don't exist, they are still hidden somewhere, or they are now held by people who we don't want to have them.
Now that's daft: a pre-emptive "you're stupid" strike against people who criticize the President. If I didn't know better, I'd think that your surname is Wolfowitz.

No not at all. I criticize him too. I beleive that liberals have worked themselves up into a lather and have forgotten the lesson learned by the '98 Republicans, i.e. no one cares how much you hate the guy, stick to the issues.

So is there any evidence anywhere about what happened to the WMD's?

Do we really think that Saddam destroyed them?

But the issue of "Bush lied" is a legitimate campaign issue, and to say "you look foolish" for bringing it up next year is totally incorrect. It cannot be the sole message on which the Dem candidate runs, but Edwards' take on this -- the lies leading up to the Iraq war, Cheney & Halliburton & the energy issues, Perle & Global Crossing, etc. are all signs of a complete contempt for the American people -- should be the blueprint for talking about what is wrong with this country.
Loaded question because you are assuming that they existed recently. But if they did exist recently they are probably now in the possession of people a lot more unpredictable than Saddam himself.
Most likely, Clinton's military bombed the daylights out of them years ago.

Clinton had his own Military? ;)

No . . . . . I don't accept we bombed them into oblivion in 98 or whenever the last pin prick strike against Iraq happened. TV cameras would have been invited to film the people indiscriminately killed by the US.

So what happened to the WMDs?

What do you mean, you don't accept that explanation? You think I'm making this up? Write to David Kay, then! He'll write back - he's got lots of time these days.

    This is what he'll say:

    We ain't found *#*#*#*#!

And we know they're within 50 miles of Baghdad. Remember?

Say, I wonder what happened to those oh-so-secret sources we couldn't reveal to those countries whose troops we wanted to fight and die alongside our troops? Did they move and not send in a change-of-address form to the White House? Pretty rude of them, I think.

They may have evaporated into thin air, for all I care, but that's not the point. It's up to you and you ilk to prove that on March 1 this year, WMD existed, not up to me to prove they didn't exist. That tends to be the basic tenet of our justice system, doesn't it? Saying that Saddam somehow must've had these weapons is worth jack all until you find some.

I thought this thread was supposed to start with a "reasonable" question. Where is it?

    Yeah, whatever.

Your post reeks of the desperation of someone struggling mightily to retain his self-respect as it dawns on him that he's just another dupe who's been played like a Stradivarius by his own heroes. Sucks to be you.
