The way the team is struggling to play out of the back...Alaba would be extremely useful in that department. Militao and Rudiger struggling a bit........ especially with Mendy also being very average on the ball
Real Madrid have now gone 37 La Liga games without losing. The record stands at 38. pic.twitter.com/b0FvuP3Gwj— Madrid Universal (@MadridUniversal) September 14, 2024
We didn't play good, but we are after nantional break with no midfield subs and 39 years old Modric and got 3 points at a hard away game. The season is long and we will have enough time to play better, but for now i'm happy we got the 3 points. Now we need to the same at Tuesday just with much batter football.

RM last 5 goals in La Liga: 4 of them came from penalties Why do you think the team struggle ? 1835069723471757750 is not a valid tweet id
🇪🇸 Chema Andrés (19 - DM):• Midfield controller / Deep-lying orchestrator.• Suits very well as the deepest midfielder of the team: as a single pivot.• Smart operator on the ball, often scanning the field and being fairly composed on the ball. He plays simply and fairly.•… pic.twitter.com/Accs70dMoV— Real Madrid Fabrica (@FabricaMadrid) September 13, 2024 Really wanted to see him today. A DM. 1.90 height. Consider as Rodri heir.
Me too; I really wish we would use our Cantera products more readily like Farca does. They could fill in the missing gaps and we never know who we might uncover.
No one said to throw them in the lion's mouth against top opposition, but they could definitely be used against lower opposition until they gain confidence.
Eh, when is the"phase of play" of Vini having the ball over? Yeah, there's a footstep, but the ball had long gone. Put it in the other penalty area, and I agree that you guys would've lost your shyte over such a call against you.
I don't really see how soft those pens are. They were pretty easy calls. That being said, the team was fortunate, Sociedad hit the bar 3x ffs. I'm just glad to take all 3 pts.
We didn't play well today, but I thought Brahim's injury was a blow. Given the lineup constraints, I thought having him and Guler popping up on the right was looking promising. We were clearly trying to be more balanced than in previous games, and it seemed to be going better when he was in in comparison to Rodrygo.
I don't see how the late footstep was an issue. In fact it made the foul much worse. It's like saying I could trip a player in the box as long as he doesn't have the ball.
Because the phase of play was over. The pass was made by Vini, and in no way was the pass affected by the footstep. I mean, how long does the play have to be over before it no longer matters? At the same time, did it impact the play? Just as a player can be in an offside position, but not impact a good goal, so too can some contact be ignored by the officials, when and if it does not impact the play.
Again that goes back to my previous point. Is it ok for me to trip an off-ball player in the box if it doesn't interfere with play?
Not really. From your perspective, the ball could be in Real's area, just about to go into the net, but if there's a trip back in Sociedad's area? According to you, it should be "PK for Sociedad," and I disagree. Whats more, The Laws do reference "phases of play," and so if a play is over, a play is over.
That's not the rule though. If your follow through of a play ends in a foul... then it's a foul. The fact that Vini had passed the ball and then the step impacted his foot is a continuation. It's only called in La Liga tbh... would never have been a penalty in any other league. But, that's the reason most technically gifted players want to play in La Liga. Cheapshots are far less likely as a result of this type of harsh punishment.
Actually, "continuation" within The Laws refers to a foul action that begins outside the area, and then continues to inside the area, then a PK is awarded. https://www.askasoccerreferee.com/the-continuation-principle/ "Continuation" isn't within The Laws as it was called in that 2nd PK.
You didn't really answer my question. Once again, Is it a foul if I trip a player inside the box who isn't involved in play? I'm talking inside the box, because that's where Vini was.
Wins like this when we didn’t deserve to win and still managed to get 3 points bring titles in May. But we need to get better, much much better.
Even when Tchou and Cama return we need a ball player. Offside is not a foul hence it's an indirect FK. Suarez bites someone in the dugout and it's a red card. This isn't difficult.
