Nacho isn’t a wing-back and for sure not a LB. Same as for Valverde. I think Alaba was need to play as LB. Position he know well, and nacho CB. It’s frustrating that carvajal and mendy always injured
Wouldn't be the first time he played there. Ancelotti is sending a clear message to LV that he doesn't trust him at RB.
A journalist I follow is at the game and people are taking the hint that the lineup is a message to Hazard and LV.
It's a 4-3-3 with Fede as a RB, he's played there against Liverpool and since Carlo doesn't trust Lucas or Miguel to play FB in tough games i'm not surprised by this.
Rodrygo has been better so it's a good call, plus Hazard probably doesn't have a future at this club, better invest our energy into players that do.

Of course he can play there. You could probably stick him anywhere and he'd put in a decent-ish performance. I'm still not happy seeing him in the lineup - and especially not playing the position where he'll have to work even harder than in midfield, while being able to utilize his best attributes. For some reason I like the guy as well. It probably has something to do with trying to empathize with him after his injury. For some reason I really hope he'll work out.
I’m generally very happy with how Carlo is handling the squad. No favorites, play well, you get in. Vini amd Asensio are great examples. With all that said, buy a ********ing RB for him in the winter.
Hoping for an injury free 3 points and the continued development of our young players. Keeping the confidence levels high and going on a good run will do wonders for the squad still trying to find itself.
Marco still just does not do enough when we do not have the ball, this is my worry as far as being overrun in the middle of the park is concerned, lets hope he helps out this game and he better bring his shooting boots, lets get these 3 points
The renewal to Lucas will end up being a Mariano/Isco case down the line but can’t do anything about it now. Let’s get this win. I’ve been shitting on Asensio for a while but he was great last game, more of the same please.

Hope this starting XI is good enough. I guess it’s pretty clear now what Carlo thinks of Hazard. I think this is the third straight game he starts on the bench ?
Villarreal with 1 win and 4 draw so far this season. Sitting in the second half of the table. One of those draws however was against Atleti in a game they should’ve obviously won.
