Maybe its just me, but if Xabi is playing the wingers in pairs, should it not be Rodrygo with Brahim and Vini with Franco? Franco does not really use the width much, whereas Vini does. So it is more balanced. Whereas Rodrygo and Brahim are more flexible, neither need to be completely wide or inside.
Penalty given against Juve was due to handball while defender was on the ground as well. Accidental, but his hand was away from the body and blocked a powerful shot.
I don't see anything wrong with the PK or the red. If you don't call that PK, it will get to a point that handballs will just be allowed. Carvajal is a brilliant, brilliant man, but he has to know there are cameras everywhere, ffs. Club should work on that, make the players smarter.
Tibo deserves the right to vent. He'll stop doing this at some point anyway, might as well get it all out and get it over with.
It may not be the spirit of the rule, but that's how it has been consistently called, including multiple incidents vs. Real Madrid. Rules need to be black and white, and to me, to me the only rule that works is any handball where the forearm is away from the body is a penalty; regardless of situation or intent.
Exactly SAME penalty awarded yesterday was whistled on Nacho before va Napoli and there was no whining about itpic.twitter.com/GbmyIrhq6Y— MadMad (@MaadMadrid) September 17, 2025
I don't know, it seems pretty harsh to say that the OM player's hand wasn't where it was a consequence of justifiable body movement. To me, that was a hell of a tackle and an unfortunately harsh call. There have been some similar called against Madrid over the years - particularly in the year right after they issued new handball guidelines and no one could figure out what was going on - but we complained about every one and I think that overall, they've gotten a bit more lenient on these type of calls in the last year. On the other hand, I actually thought that the goalie taking out Mastanuano after he put the ball past him off the post was more of a legitimate penalty than the one they gave us. Goalie never got the ball, got all of Mastanuano, and while it doesn't technically matter, the ball remained in play after bouncing right back into Mastanuano's potential path. They seem to give goalies wild leniency in terms of contact once the ball is away as it seems informally considered the end of the action (though as far as I know, there is no rule to support this), but that wasn't the case here.
If the defender chooses to go down on the field, he risks touching the ball with his hand. It's a risk he takes. If his hand stays glued to his body, there's no penalty. However, if he extends his arm, it's a PK. That's how I see it at least.
