Let's go! I'm excited for this year's Champions League. I don't consider every year we do not win it a failure like a lot here but I'm sure we can have at the very least a nice long run.

Hope we can win and score a few! Goals matter greatly in this new format.

Rodrygo at LW and Franco at RW please. Keep the competition between the players at a maximum in the current system.

No one from Vini, Rodrygo, Brahim and Franco is playing great. Let them keep fighting for their spots.

Hala Madrid. A por la 16!

It would be great to get to a comfortable spot where we can have Jude and Camavinga get a few minutes.

I’m guessing that we’re likely to see Tchoumeni drop to CB if they come on.

Won't be an easy game though.... they have a good coach and a few dangerous players.

I can see him rotating Vini out for the next league match, but less likely for the CL. Also, Xabi said yesterday, "I've spoken to [Vini], he did a fantastic job despite us being a man down on Saturday. It wasn't ideal for an attacking player but he sacrificed himself for the team. It was a real team win. He looks good to me, his energy levels are high for tomorrow." -- doesn't sound like a player he is about to drop. You never know though, of course.

    Trent Mastantuono and Rodrygo starting

I hope Asencio gets in this game in the 2nd half. Don't want to play Militao every minute

Vini will be rotated regularly with Rodrygo it seems unless/until he gets back to world class level.

I like this lineup. Brahim has showed a lot of impotence of late. The Vini and Rodrygo rotation continues which is a good thing.

I think Rodrygo will have a great game tonight.

It's a clear message. He's not untouchable. I thought he had a good game last game, but he needs to get the offensive spark back.

It's quite interesting though, Rodrygo is probably a better fit with Mbappe, so there is that.

Btw this makes 10 games in a row for Guler as a starter. Long may it continue

The bigger surprise is Militao in back to back games within 3 days. I hope we are being very very cautious.

Good to see Rodrygo start, I also agree, should have rested Mili for Asencio.

I will be interested to see how it goes. I also thought they might complement each other better, but when Rodrygo got the start against Oviedo I wasn't that impressed. Throughout his RM career, I've often felt that Rodrygo looked better in the matches he subbed into than the ones he started (with Brahim being similar but even more so).

Overall, I like the lineup. I'm interested to see where exactly Mastantuano plays. Will he play on the right wing or drop into midfield more and let Trent provide the width? If he drops more, where does Fede play?

Agree with you guys about Militao, hope they are smart with his minutes.

Hope we can see something from Franco tonight, and Valverde is feeling closer to 100% after a few more days since returning from SA.

You can say what you want of Alfonso's real Madrid, boring, efficient, no spark, but the rotations are such a breath of fresh air. Such a change.

Who said we had no spark and was boring, literally the best football I have seen this team play in the last year were RMs last 10 games lol.
