Fantastic win - champagne football that was reminiscent of the galactico era at times. Some of those insane cross field passes, flicks, switches, playing out of pressure…just an absolute joy to watch.

But what really made it worth it was to see the effort from the players. Asencio, Valverde, Tchouameni were imperious at the back, but even seeing Rodrygo charge down every player to press from the front was so great.

A superb game all round from us. It’s not often that we both play well, and the opponent is trash but this was one of those times. So many unforced errors from City. And in addition to that not closing down Kylian. What are you doing Pep? The philosopher played himself again today by having them in a 4-4-2 in defense. Long time since I have seen them do that.

Great boost of confidence for the team. Now let’s use this catalyst to push on in the other two competitions!

 

Asencio is really crazy good. Makes you wonder all the other academy players who never got a chance.

Asencio is playing great at the highest level. Hakimi is great. Llorente was borderline great in initial seasons with Atletico. Gila probably in good category right now.

As much as I dislike him, Pep has been very gracious towards our team this season. It just goes to show how we continue to humble the greatest of teams and characters.

 

Mbappe looks great when he has space, we need him to work this summer on more tools so he can better deal with a low block

 

I can't remember the quote but he said something complimentary about the club a few years ago that many people took the wrong way or somehow assumed was sacasm or whatever.

I also think he has a ton of respect for Carlo, I think if it's Xabi or someone else and he knocks us out next time around I would fully expect him to troll the sht out of us.
