This was the team’s best game this season (along with the Barcelona win). So, the team is capable of playing very very well, wish we would show some consistency.
He's looked rejuvenated recently, if we manage his minutes well, which we have so far, he might be able to give us a good year.
Midfield was balling all night. Had a great game. The defense did well too, Nacho had a good game and kept Lukaku in his pocket all night. Hazard getting better, hopefully no more setbacks for him. And last but not least, lord LV. Dude was hustling all night, good game from him. Overall one of our best games this season. Props to Zidane for the lineup and impactful subs.
I read he was a Madridista growing up and became anti RM because we beat all his teams and never tried to sign him. We broke his heart. [emoji23]
It felt so good 0-2 on the road victory. Ode was excellent in the first 20min, Nacho played very well. Eden penalty goal and was active on his wing. The whole team had a great performance including subs Rodrygo & Casemiro. Kroos & Modric had really strong games too.
Hazard got better as the game wore on. Some of his last few touches were a thing of beauty. He'll round into form.
The midfield controlled the game admirably. Inter’s midfield was a non-factor. Nacho did a great job keeping Lukaku in check. Lucas Vázquez was tireless. Perhaps the most composed I’ve seen the team play all year. Let’s win at Shaktar next week and then first place in the group is in sight. Hala Madrid!
Honestly that was dominance on the level of boredom. Inter didn't have a word to say, really felt like they couldn't compete. Team was insanely well prepared, two to three steps ahead on every play. Vamos equipo.
We've had so many good games with him on the field, that we might as well call him one of our legends
Man was I wrong. The team showed up to play - that was Kroos and Modric of old. We we were controlling the game nicely even before the red card, the most composed I’ve see us play for a full 90 in CL recently. Happy for Varane to get a solid performance in along with Nacho who is in two games from injury!? Keep getting healthy and build from here. Also the first game I watched with none of the fake supporter noise - I actually enjoyed watching the game way more hearing the play.
There is an argument to be made that the team relies heavy on preparation and reading the opponent, and we might be better prepared against big opponents. If the staff is overwhelmed by the schedule, maybe we should broaden our coaching staff to focus on "lesser" matches as much as we do on the big ones. I feel like the difference between yesterday was the way the team was reading the opponent, vs the way we lined up vs Villareal felt like more of a "eh, we're gonna win this somehow" type situation.
“We’re gonna win this somehow” is how I’ve felt about every single game madrid has played since Zidane took over the first time. Especially the last two CL wins. It was just kinda a feeling.
I don't know what the footballing world sees in Conte. Guy brought Kolarov, Ashley ********ing Young and a drunk driver to Inter and they think they can win anything? They have a decent squad but why waste it on some old dudes? What a fraud.
That's a very intelligent remark. I to feel our approach is too lethargic at times. If we put our minds to it we can win anything.
Couldn't watch the game (TV was on but I had to work) How was the midfield without Casemiro? And how well did Odegaard do in your opinion?
Not to take anything away from our accomplishment But boy does Inter suck. They got thoroughly outplayed by the worst Madrid team in 10 years and we were also missing players. Clowns might not even make the 2nd round in a cake group lmao
I thought Martin did very well, i liked what i saw of him yesterday, beginning to settle in and took more responsibility with the ball, he does need attackers moving more ahead of him to be more effective though
