Okay enough games to judge Ascensio now. It’s almost criminal that it took so many injuries for him to get a chance so show himself. It’s like a young Nacho, who also was very fast in his young years and had the same build, not that tall for a CB, but very reliable. 1 CB left, midfielders injured and only then we can see a natural CB from our youth. I’m 100% confident we have a RB, a 6 we can use who will play better than fitting in other players in positions that can’t play just because they have ‘experience’z

The difference between giving minutes to guler and Modric is one is an investment in the future, the other is recognition to the past. And I say that with all due respect to Modric.
The one thing Carlo needs to do is stop relying more on Guler, because he's not ready. Diaz should be well ahead of Guler once Mbappe, Vini and Rodrygo are back in the front 3
Mbappe was the fulcrum of every chance created in the second half. Should have scored a couple more than he did and had beautiful lob pass to Brahim to set up his 1v1. Another good run by Mbappe where Fran overcooked the horizontal pass.
No offense but Guler came on at half time. Modric playing today did not impact Guler's playing time. This is an odd point to die on today when Guler stunk up the joint. Edit: Carlo had another 3 subs available today and did not use them.

Carlo has all but said he is here to win now and isn't looking to help the team with their "investments for the future"...of course this is very much paraphrased in my words but basically what he feels when he makes his subs. I just hope Brahim isn't injured. The ending looked odd.

Apparently he wasn't seen as the "top" youth CB, Jacobo and Joan Martinez were ahead of him in the reports I've read. Oh well. Might be true, but even those 2 kids we haven’t seen them before July/august. We don’t need to kid ourselves, after pre-season, injured or not they wouldn’t get a chance. If Tchou gets takes his place, kid should just leave and be a starter somewhere else We play a winger as a RB.
