Real Madrid vs FC Barcelona La Liga | J33 Date: April 21, 2024 It's el Clasico day. What type of reaction will we get from the team after the disappointing CL elimination ? While La Liga will still be out of reach even with a win IMO, a win at the Bernabeu would be a fantastic bounce. Madrid does have one less day of rest and did play a tiring 120 mins match. No new injuries as far as I know.
Thank you, sir, for starting this thread. Your attention to duty is noted. I see no reason why this side can't have a good performance today. Its the most important match of the season remaining. I'd like to see the same lineup as vs P$G, except for 2 changes: 1. Christiansen starts alongside FDJ and Gundogan in the MF. 2. Start the same defense, only with Araujo on the left CD, and Cubarsi on the right. The defensive changes puts Araujo on Cancelo's side, and in a position to lend help to him. Putting Cubarsi on the right puts him in the center of the 3 man backline in the build-up, and in position to quarterback the side in possession. Replacing Christiansen provides more protection to the defense. In any case, Pedri did not look like he's back into form just yet vs P$G. I'd bring on Pedri around minute 60 or so, instead of starting him. Let's Fvkcing Go.
There are vibes of Xavi's first Clasico as coach in 2022, the 4-0... LPB maybe feeling distracted by their CL advancement, maybe feeling a bit complacent by the 8 point lead they hold. This is not a game they have to win to seal La Liga for themselves. They also defended for 120 minutes in Manchester on Wednesday. If they feel they have anything to prove, it's that they are a football team and not just a bus valet service.
Horrible mistake from Cancelo, but Vásquez absolutely forced that "trip" to happen by intentionally dragging his foot. A bit divey IMO.
That foul by Modric should have been booked. Later in this game, the ref will have to make the same decision, and he'll HAVE TO book it. I only hope that justice prevails, and its a Madrid player that's booked.
Nothing to do with the physio or the pitch, just bad luck with two players going in hard for the ball
