Today is a very important game because Depor is a direct rival to fight for la liga.

If we win we could advantage Depor in 6 points, that would be very interesting distance.

Although Atletico Madrid and Barcelona has been a very important games, and it is always great to win that games. The game most important is the game of today. Depor is better team than Atletico and Barcelona and it can be very dangerous. A victory is also very important, because in case of tie at the end of the season, would win the team with best difference of goals. Example,

    RM - 1 - Depor - 0 in Madrid
Depor - 2 - RM -0 in Coruña. Depor would win in case of tie. If Depor had 74 points, Real madrid would need 75 to win la liga.

The game is a sold out since two weeks ago.

Queiroz will be able to use all the players of the team for this game, except Guti that it's doubt.

    The starting 11 could be:

    Casillas
Salgado, Pavon, Raul Bravo, Roberto Carlos
    Figo, Beckham, Helguera, Zidane
    Raul, Ronaldo

The game will be at 7:00 p.m C.E.T

I think the whole team played well....

Raul played his best game for a long time, but only 80% up to his former self. I think he should have done better in the first half. He missed a few chances. I am glab that he is back..... :)

Ronaldo also missed two scoring chances(one was the breakaway in the 2nd half). Normally, he would have buried those goals.

Beckham.... not a bad game, but he made his same old mistake again. When he lost the ball, he went after the other player with both legs which is typical Beckham mistake. I do not care for Lionel Scaloni's reaction. I was not thinking of him when I wrote this. Imediately after he lost the ball, I knew Beckham would tackle and foul him.

Of course, Scaloni overacted and should have been gotten a red card. If I was Roberto Carlos, I would have deliberately let him to have a go at Beckham.... before pulling him away. I do not think he can hurt Beckham.... the ref would have sent him off if he had done something more. And yes, I was a dirty player.

congrats for a well played match blancos, especially the first half, its was a coming and going, ZZ's goal was a beauty, Im not surprised he won the prize over Henry (whose team didnt win anything last season) and Gornaldo.

Where are all those Raul haters now?

You guys know who you are.

It's easy to smack him when he's down, now let's hear some praise for a job well done.

Great game. The best game of la liga this year, both teams played very well. But Real Madrid played a perfect soccer the first 45 minutes, and a great soccer the rest of the game.

Zidane played great, he made two or three plays in the first half that only he can do. He is asuperclass, It is a blessing for the eyes to see him play. The people of Bernabeu have a real devotion for Zidane, and everybody knows that the people in Bernabeu is very demanding.

Well, Zidane played very great but the rest of the team played at very good level. I liked very much the team yesterday, the starting 11 was:

    Casillas
Salgado, Pavon Raul Bravo, Roberto Carlos
    Figo, Beckham, Helguera, Zidane
    Raul, Ronaldo

I like the great capacity to create play that showed the team. Helguera is playing better every game. And He, Beckham, Zidane with the help of Figo, Salgado, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo and Raul created a infinity of plays that Depor even playing good couldn't stop. And at the same time the team seems solid, without make many mistakes. And very consistent. The first goal was a long pass of Helguera that Zidane controled great and he asist Ronaldo that scored a easy goal.

As Excape Goat and Sinko have said, yesterday was the best game of Raul this season he played really good as he always do in the big games, or in the games very important for the team. He failed 2 goals like Ronaldo, but he was very active helping in attack and in defense and giving character to the team.

In the second half the team began playing very good, maybe a little worse, but Depor scored its goal in one of the few mistakes that we made in the midfield. The next 5-10 minutes were the best minutes of Depor, but RM that played very solid all the game began to play very well and controled the game around 20-25 minuted until that Raul scored the winning goal in the 85 min. RM could have scored 2 more goals in a very clear chance of goal of Zidane that saved Molina, and in another of Miñambres after a pass of Raul that let him a easy goal. Speaking about Miñambres, he played in the second half instead of Figo - injured- and he played really good, the best game of a youth player this year.

In the last minutes, there was an incident between Beckham and Scaloni. I think that Scaloni was too nervious and he could have end the game easily with a red card if RC don't stop him. He overreacted becuase Beckham didn't make him anything. At the end of the game all the stadium was singing "Beckham, Beckham, Beckham...."

In sumary, the best game of the team this year against the most dificult rival, as Molina -Depor GK - said "You must play a perfect game to win in Bernabeu, and even playing a perfect game you can lose." That was my sensation, Depor played really good, but RM players were "into" the game the 90 minutes, and simply Depor couldn't stop them.

Well, we continue as leaders with a diference of 2 point over Valencia, the only team that maintain our last month rate, 6 points over Depor and 10 points over the fourth. And around 20 points!!! over Celta and Real Sociedad, two team that fought the last year for la liga. But it's very dificult to maintain a good rate playing in the CL and La liga. The last year they only play la liga.

A note about the referre, he declared invalid two goals. One goal of Depor, and one goal of RM. I think that the two goals were valid.

well, first of all, the obvious, a much better game from Raul. Good work trying to set up Ronaldo, nice volley in the box in the first half that Molina was positioned well to block, great run late in the game and good control to steer Roberto Carlos cross into the net - I haven't seen replays but I remember the ball came in a little high. This was a very important game against a direct rival for the title, so all the better that Raul scored the decisive goal.
I was impressed by Helguera in this game - he seemed to be much more involved especially in the attack. I am not sure why his goal was disallowed. Good timing for Helguera to shine as Beckham did not have his best game in my opinion, his passing seemed to be a little off. That is the strength of this Real Madrid team, though, of course, that with so many talented players, someone is bound to make the difference.
What an exhibition by Zidane on the eve of his 3rd Fifa World Player of the Year award. I would need to crack out my thesaurus to try and find words to describe his skill on the ball. He must be inspired by his wife, the ballerina.

I read in la marca today that this is Madrid's best start to the league since 96-97 under Fabio Capello. With consecutive wins against Atletico Madrid, at the Camp Nou for the first league win in 20 years, and against Deportivo, and having qualified first in the group stage (as expected) Perez should be pleased with Quieroz's stewardship so far. So many questions were raised early on after the controversial departure of Makalele and the failure to sign a center back, (by myself, included), but the midfield of Beckham and Helguera is looking good right now and the defense has not been as porous as many had feared - with the exception of the debacle against Sevilla that was attributable to the absence of key players to injury and suspension. And it seems that will be the key to success this season, i.e. staying healthy and avoiding suspensions, especially in the knockout stages of the Champion's League where one bad day can end the season, for while the starting eleven is unquestionably a dream team, things get a little hairy when there is a change in the back.

It might not suit me, but being a front-running bandwagon jumper sure suits you.

Nice job getting around the filter.

I didn't see the incident between Scaloni and Beckham, but here's what Scaloni was so mad about and probably the reason he over reacted:

Not too much to add to what has already been stated. It was a nice win against a difficult opponent and Madrid now has 12 points from it's 3 league matches against Atletico, Barcelona and now Deportivo. Interesting statistic that bkn brought up courtesy of marca regarding Real Madrid's start this year.

Madrid is doing a very good job this season and the current lineup with Helguera as ball winner is quite effective. Beckham may have been a bit off from his recent performances but Zidane, Raul and Helguera certainly made up for it. I am, however, a bit woried about Pavon's performance this season. He has been caught out of position many times this year, including on Pandiani's goal, and has shown a lack of speed at the back. Still this season is looking very promising for Madrid!

Yes it was nice to see Raul play well. Hopefully this will get him back on track and he can once again become the key performer for Madrid. His presence is needed. Depor is a tough opponent and that was a good win for Madrid. I have to agree with Martin that Pavon's play this year is worrying. Look at the Leganes Copa del Rey match for more evidence of his poor play.

Still there is plenty to be optimistic about with this Madrid team as Martin said. I think we madridistas will enjoy this season!

Beckham kind of stepped over Scaloni(but was not very serious), but I did not notice Beckham tried to touch Scaloni's gentials.....

That explained a lot of things... why would a rich, famious and handsome man liked Beckham married an ugly woman liked Posh? I hope none of the Real madrid players drop the soap when Beckham is sharing the shower. :)

Scaloni said that Beckham touched his own gentials - not scaloni ones- , before offer his hand to him. And for that reason Scaloni don't check the hand with Beckham, but there aren't images about that. It is only the Scaloni word.

He also has said that he will wait Beckham in Riazor - Depor stadium-. I think that that game will be a hard game for Beckham.

Yeah, I got that information wrong, the site I read it from mis-quoted Scaloni, but other sites I've read say exactly as you said.
