Match preview Real Madrid come into this La Liga clash against Alavés at the Bernabéu looking to stop the bleeding after their Champions League exit. It’s been a strange stretch for them with no wins in a month across all competitions, something you almost never see from this team. Now they’re heading into this game on a four-match winless run, and unless things turn around quickly, they’re staring at a season that could end with nothing to show for it. Alavés, on the other hand, have been a lot more lively since Quique Sánchez Flores took charge at the start of March. Still, results haven’t fully followed, they’re sitting just one point above the relegation zone, with Elche CF right behind them. They’ve had a habit of letting games slip late, like against Valencia CF and Villarreal CF, but also showed serious character by coming back from 3-0 down to beat Celta Vigo 4-3, which pretty much sums them up right now: chaotic, but dangerous. Team News Real Madrid Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio has been ruled out of the fixture after being diagnosed with gastroenteritis. Rodrygo remains a long-term absentee after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury at the start of March. Predicted line-up: Alaves Carlos Benavidez will miss the game due to injury Predicted line-up: Hala Madrid!
Remaining home games will have low attendance. 🚨 Many empty seats at the Bernabéu.There were whistles, but not much. @AbrahamPRomero pic.twitter.com/lPNU4y3DdI— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) April 21, 2026
Sorry to be negative but Mbappé can be so frustrating to watch. The ball is being played forward and he's LITERALLY jogging in the opposite direction, away from the box.
I genuinely think about all the hours I've wasted watching Real Madrid this season. Genuinely think about playing PlayStation instead as I'm behind on so many games.
Again, why is no one in the box?! What the hell. Bellingham makes the run and the closest person to the centre is Tchouameni! Instead of our right back being the option on the wing for Bellingham to pass back to, as there was no one in the box to cross to, was Mbappé! Not Trent, not Valverde but Mbappé??? Make it make sense.
I am die hard fan since 2001. The last official match I did not watch was in 2003 probably. Even right now I am forcing myself to watch this sh!t, but I will skip the last 6 this season. This is not Real Madrid, the golden generation is fully gone and its replaced by bunch of spoiled baby boys. They are mainly “influencers” and just part time footballers. If 2016/17 B squad play against them the match will look exactly as the match at the Metropolitano earlier this season.
huh look at that, a chance created by Mbappe actually being in the box waiting to receive a pass from vini. Shame he shot poorly.
