Bayer just came off a HUGE defeat at the hands of Schalke 04......3-0! And RMCF lost to Barca 3-0. So when of these clubs is going to feel the aftershocks of one really ticked off side. I'm guessing that Real Madrid is going to thrash Bayer Leverkuesen. I pray that I'm wrong because I want Bayer to beat RMCF, but I just don't see it happening.

I'm guessing that you're wrong. Leverkusen's biggest shortcoming is motivation, and that won't be a problem against Real Madrid.

By the way, I'm going to see Rammstein in February.

Madrid will be all fired up tonight, especially following the thrashing they got from their domestic rivals at the weekend. Not to add the beating Leverkusen handed them in Germany.
I think an away win is a distinct possibility though. Would be great for football to see RealMadrid lose.

If I had to guess, I would bet on a wild game with lots of action and some defensive errors by Leverkusen. Madrid is at home, so I am going to call 4-2 for Real. As you say though, an away win is not out of the question.

By the way, is this game on TV or are we going to be subjected to Bayern again?

Ahh such an exciting match.. almost felt like a Leverkusen supporter.
Leverkusen progressing is in their own hands, only they can mess it up by losing to Kiev (still trying to get tickets for this match).

Voronin is absolutely on fire these past few games, his header into the crossbar was like a bullet.

Love to see Real Madrid end up in the UEFA Cup though.

Great result. However, a shame they couldn't nick it at the end. Even the commentator was shouting. Why the striker didn't go alone, only he knows.
Good save by Butt from the Figo penalty. I think it was slightly dubious, as the contact on Zidane must have been minimal, but Zidane made it look as though he had trodden on a landmine.

Here's hoping UEFA Cup for Real Madrid. :D
    Clearly a team in decline.

Leverkusen in comparison were at times a delight to watch.

I'm jealous. They look like they would be great to see live, with all their pyrotechnics. Have fun!

If you were to tell me back in August that Dynamo Kiev would be leading this group of RMCF, Roma, and Bayer....I would have had you committed. Bayer is the hottest side out of this group and should go through.

Madrid looked better without Beckham. But having said that, Leverkusen should have scored at least once towards the end of the game.

Agreed, Madrid played much better without Beckham. I was expecting Owen to come on for him which wasn't good news for me.

Leverkusen were really quite terrible at moments in the second half. Gave the ball away far too much.

I have a feeling that Roma might redeem them selves for their behavior this year by doing a great favor to mankind.

Lets hope Roma thrash Real. Do they get to have their fans back for this match? I heard that the Madrid fans were making monkey noises whenever Juan and Roque Jr touched the ball. Did alot of people go to the game? Only 6500K showed up for Juventus game

Can't see Roma getting any result against Real Madrid. That IS a team in crisis. Just be nice to see RealMadrid to go out at this stage though.

btw, on German TV it was clearly seen (and some others agreed with me at the official HSV Forum) that the Real fans had a NPD flag in their block. The NPD is a right-extremist party close to illegaly in Germany... (Holocaust Deniers...)

    UEFA to probe Bernabeu incidents

MADRID, Nov 25 (Reuters) - Real Madrid are being investigated by UEFA into alleged racist chanting at the Bernabeu Stadium during a Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen.

UEFA made Thursday's announcement a week after world governing body FIFA said it would investigate alleged racist jibes against England's black players during an international friendly with Spain at the same stadium.

'During the Group G game at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, fans were seen making Nazi salutes while racist chanting was heard, directed at Leverkusen's black players,' UEFA said on its website on Thursday.

The referee and match delegate did not include these incidents in their report on the 1-1 draw and UEFA said it would consider television evidence and other information before deciding whether to take any action.

Real Madrid issued a statement on Wednesday condemning racist behaviour but said they were unaware any incidents had taken place in the match.

The club said UEFA president Lennart Johansson, who watched the game alongside Real president Florentino Perez, had observed no problems.

Sky Sports News television images, reproduced on Thursday in the Spanish sports press, showed bare-chested members of Real Madrid's Ultra Sur group of radical fans making the Nazi salute during the clash against Bundesliga side Leverkusen.

Members of the Ultra Sur also directed monkey noises and racist insults at Leverkusen's black players Roque Junior and Juan, the Spanish media said.

The UEFA announcement comes in the midst of a debate over the extent of racism in Spanish football, ignited by the taunts in the England friendly which was won 1-0 by Spain.

The Spanish government was forced to apologise for fans' behaviour after British Prime Minister Tony Blair said he was 'very disappointed' by the chants.

With his team under close scrutiny, Real Madrid defender Roberto Carlos added his voice to a growing number of playing alleged racist behaviour by fans.

The Brazilian international said he was victim of racist chanting during Saturday's 3-0 away loss to arch-rivals Barcelona.

'The chants against me were racist treatment,' he was quoted as saying in sporting daily AS. 'I have always had respect for all fans and they have treated me well in Barcelona but I do not understand what happened on Saturday.

'It is pity that in the 21st century these things keep occurring,' he said
