Real Madrid is coming to Toronto, and I for one could not be more excited. Globe and Mail article Here's hoping TFC can't find set up another exhibition match and us season ticket holders get to go for free (well already paid)!
Hmmm, maybe I'll come to this game instead of the one in DC. What is the weather like in Toronto in August?
I hate the drive though, and I don't know anyone in the area which means I gotta stay overnight and all that jazz. If I fly to Toronto I can use some of my frequent flyer miles and have me a mini-vacation complete with some kickass shopping
Plus there is bound to be some sort of summer festival that weekend, there is one almost every weekend in the summer in TO. (Ha, I sound like Toronto tourism now)
Zidane and Friends coming to Montreal in the end of June. Come here instead I know they're going to Toronto too but everybody knows that Montreal in the summer is the shizzle!
Any info about the prices for the tickets for this game, because I might make the trip to Toronto instead, as I have always wanted to take a trip to Canada anyways.
4 - Season seat holders will get first chance to buy their seats if a second friendly is announced. With only 20,000 seats available, and given the cost of grass and this club and their travel, you're correct in thinking that the tickets will be more than a normal match. They'll be close to $200 at the top end I think. The high end tickets (tables, field side seats) will be more, but they are not for everyone. Season Seat Holders will have this option to buy. Not obligation. The second friendly of course refers to the Real Madrid game.
If at some point someone runs onto the field and scores on Madrid, it's me. I've been planning this for ages.
You wish, I'll be the one that runs onto the field and scissor-tackles your ass. If that fails, there's always Casillas.
This is the first time ever in my life I wished I was in Canada. Real Madrid will come here when they make indoor stadiums.
Nothing has been announced yet on the TFC side of things. The rumor is that Toronto is trying to secure a lower level of opponent for another exhibition match. Season ticket holders (of which I am one) are guaranteed an exhibition match in their package. The cost of bringing in Real Madrid plus the cost of putting a temporary grass field on BMO Field (since that is one of Real's stipulations) means they need to charge a much higher price than has already been paid by the season ticket holders for their exhibition match. So basically from what I gather, once TFC finds another team to fulfill their obligations to their season ticket holders, then ticket pricing and such will be released and hopefully season ticket holders will get first right of refusal, heh.
I'm beginning to reconsider, these prices are out of control I'll just go to Zidane05's house and watch on TV
