This is too difficult to watch.... I'm going to chuck this down to pre-season, too many substitutions, too many young players etc. but if this is how we play in big matches then Rafa is not going to last.
It's because Pep has been under fire by the German press in the last few months, if he isn't going to do something spectacular with Bayern this season he will be remembered as the guy who took over what was then the best team in the world and turned them into a team that gets ********ed over by the first serious international competition that comes around the corner. Also they got owned by Wolfsburge twice recently in the Cup final and the Supercup, he needs every scrap to cling to to raise his standing again. Watzke (financial manager of Dortmund) couldn't help himself and pured a little oil on the flames recently in an interview stating that Klopp and Bayern would work out perfectly.
lol off course. Deserved goal. We were abysmal. There is nothing wrong with playing defensive but the attack should at least exsist in the form of counter-attacking. This is Mourinho's defense without attack. It's pointless.
Yuck. Ramos backed out of the header, Nacho fell asleep and Navas was stuck. Time for Arbeloa to head to the US. Asensio hasn't shown much, to be honest. Illarra ain't ready for prime time still. James, I don't know what he was doing. Modric sloppy. Just not a good second half at all. Bayern are stronger physically, which is why they win the ball back so well. We need something more in the middle. Someone who can duke it out. Say what you want about Vidal's character, but I'd love to have a battler like him (not specifically him obviously) in our squad. Need a mid, LB and backup striker. I don't trust Jese yet.
With all these ridiculous rotations, I have no idea what our Starting XI will look like by the first game of La Liga. I don't know if Rafa even has a plan, this is some brain dead football. No thought, no creativity, no real strategy on winning a game. Ah well, it's pre-season. Bayern should've scored 3 times by now, I'm surprised it took so long. Our defenders look like they don't give a sh*t. Even Ramos has given up.
This is not about winning but rather showing some resemblance of good football by the team; and actually being able to play pass the ball around, retain possession, and putting in a good performance against a great side. Footballing wise what we've seeing out there is nothing to be proud of or excited by. But we'll chuck it down to pre-season.... I hope.
Our starting 11 can matchup with anyone, it's our bench that will be our downfall if we don't bump it up talent/experience wise.
Nah Mr. Madridista, he doesn't suck. He is just a 4th choice CB. Try and play there against Bayern with everyone in front of you unable to control a ball or make a sharp pass. It was bound to happen. He is fine.
We could have had Makalele and Redondo out there and it would not have made a difference considering how sloppy we were. Their players looked good because they were playing cohesively in setup a fixed system. We were just all over the place.
Benitez is a ********ing failure, rotating like a bitch and we lose the chance at the preseason treble, sack him now!!!!!! lol seriously though just another preseason game so people need to chill and there is still time in this transfer window to get reinforcements.
If anything, this preason made it clear that Cheryshev, Lucas Vazquez, Arbeloa and Illarramendi are not good enough for Real Madrid. Asensio and Borja Mayoral have potential but are far from being good enough. A loan move would be best for them. Jese would probably benefit from a loan too. Casemiro and Nacho are good backups to have but no more than that.
Were you expecting cohesion with yet another coaching/style change? I know I wasn't. Talent alone, we are weak in the middle. Casemiro ain't all that, he is serviceable. Illarra, I just don't know what to make of the guy. Of course the system isn't there, it's going to take time. But need a better backup in midfield, regardless.
This pre season was a better one than last year with the great Carlo in charge. Honestly couldn't give a shit win or lose. The treble winners got beat by Fiorentina last week.
