    Become the Tea Pot!!
Rumors abound that Real are planning a 30million bid for Ruud and that the PLC will accept the bid in order to finance a Rooney go ahead.

I want Rooney but not at the expense of Ruud! That's a stupid and pointless gamble/trade off! :(

I agree. That's a lateral move (lose Ruud / gain Rooney). Not going to happen IMO.

i heard that they were in ''final'' negotiations. not sure if that means towards the end of a particular negotiation, or if it is the last time they are going to try

These are stupid rumors...he isn't Becks, Ruud is most important player on our team, we will be lost without him and its stupid for people to think we will get rid of him.

I read before an article that says that MU in order to get Rooney is willing to offer 30m pounds and any player part of our strikeforce except for Ruud. So selling Ruud to get Rooney will not happen.

Yeah... would be a bit dumb... not to mention Rooney just injured himself and most coaches would prefer to see how a player returns to form after the injury before splurging a huge amount of cash or an important player for him...

As far as selling Ruud... for the last time... he is not for sale... (for less than 100 million GBP - hey if Rooney aint for sale for less than 50, Ruud is at least double that..)

Just another in the long list of "(YOUR STRIKER HERE) to Real Madrid" rumors. The press got tired of typing "Thierry Henry" so now they're going with "Ruud van Nistlerooy" to sell a couple of extra papers.

Seriously, though, "Ruud for Roonaldo" makes absolutely zero sense, especially since Rooney just broke that bone in his foot. Feet are pretty important, and who really knows how much or how little this injury will affect him down the line.

In the words of someone so famous that I don't remember his name at all: "A Ruud in the hand is worth 2 Roonaldos in the bush"

We got enough coin to get Rooney anyway. I think he'd prefer Manutd than souless Chelski.

    Ruud---Saha---Rooney---Smith. Um scary

We will have the strongest attacking force in the EPL, and if we enforce our defense we will certainly winn our trophy back.

Very doubtful. Every player we've sold, including Beckham and Veron, have been outside of Fergie's plans due to either lack of fit, skill, or personality conflict. With Ruud, none of these problems is in evidence. Therefore, I doubt Ruud will leave.

If he does, though, it'll be concession that the board cares for nothing more than Top 4 finishes and a CL paycheck.

Re: Real MAdrid in for Ruud? Part 3,564

Van Nistelrooy, currently spearheading Holland in Euro 2004, was equally adamant that he is going nowhere.

”I'm sick of saying it,” said the Dutch striker. “But I will say it again.

”I'm happy at United and I will be there next season and beyond.”

    From a neutral standpoint~~

and why would VanNilstelrooj have a say in the matter? If the club decides to sell him, they do the deal regardless.. If he isn't wanted by your board, it's a done deal~ If he is happy, sad, indifferent, he is a commodity that can be sold. Obviously not saying it is going to happen, but just relax boys, you will still have that Portuguese winger to drool over.. lol~

Um... he has to agree to go... if he does not want to go, they cannot force him to... unless they buy out his contract, in which case he would be free to go anywhere he wanted to.

Well, who won a trophy last year, and who did not?

But, I don't think he wants to leave, and I don't think anybody wants him to leave either. Madrid are just playing their usual games right now...

Re: Real MAdrid in for Ruud? Part 3,564

Yes, I honestly think he very well could refuse a transfer to Madrid. Let's look at the facts. First, United fans love the guy, Madrid fans don't--strike one. There is also no indication of any kind of falling out between Ruud and either SAF or any member of the team, barring that supposed training ground bustup between him and David Bellion, which has been denied by all sides. Regardless, there is no indication of any true rift, certainly nothing along the lines of "Bootgate". Strike two. So let's say Ruud does go to Madrid. Do you think he'll appreciate sitting on the bench while Raul and Ronaldo start ahead of him? Would be a bit of a change from being the undisputed number one at United. Strike three. Sorry, but I can't see him approving a transfer which the PLC puts through, nor can I see SAF or any other players wanting to part with him either.

ya achtung..thats the bit i dont understand.. why would Madrid want Ruud? they have 2 world class strikers, and Ruud can't play in the defence.. really doesnt make much sense.. but the fact that the PLC is trying to move him must unsettle some feathers right? all that being said, it prolly won't happen at all~~ besides, who would be the whipping boy if he left (besides keano)? :)

1stly.. the PLC is not trying to move Ruud i think those are just rumours and im not sure whether u knew that and were just being hypothetical... and secondly thank you!!! a team that has 2 great strikers does not need another!!!

    Ruud+Saha+Rooney+Smith+OGS= too damned much...

Rooney in RUUD out---is this a joke

Rumor is that Manu is thinking about selling RVN in order to buy wayne rooney.
Is this a joke i mean seriously ruud is a top of the line striker
and wayne well i dont regard him that highly.

I didnt like the Saha buy fergie did and this better not go through
instead of saha he shouldve gotten defoe much cheaper, better and younger

But all this wayne rooney hoopla honestly i dont think he is worth it to get rid of ruud.

Re: Rooney in RUUD out---is this a joke

Cheaper; likely, younger; yes, but better; I think not...

Defoe is faster but barely... Saha is stronger, much better in the air (something we need as Ruud does not win all that many) can use left/right foot and score from distance... can be used in the 4-5-1.

Rooney is a very talented player and SAF will do whatever he can to sign him. But selling Ruud to RM to raise money, that will not happen. SAF won't let Ruud leave and Ruud is happy in the team and just signed a new contract. All that talk of needing extra cash to get Rooney, then why not get rid of Forlan, Butt, and possibly Solskjaer.
