Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad Anoeta Saturday October 29, 2011 10:00pm CET 4:00pm ET 1:00pm PT Convert to your time zone VS Jornada 11 presents us with an away game in San Sebastián against Real Sociedad. It looks to be the toughest test so far this season. Our recent wins show us utilizing an energy saving tactic. After having the game in the bag, we seem to take the foot of the gas, keep possession, and not get any injuries. We have been rotating and conserving our energy for the long haul of this year's competitions. Kaka has been in great form, and our two strikers have been scoring goals. We also have had a growing admiration for our new back 4 of Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, and Marcelo. Should be a rough ass game, hopefully we score early and kill them on the counter. Hopefully Kaka wont get hacked too much.
They have been on a very poor run, still a very tricky game. Hopefully we score early and silence the Anoeta a bit.
El Pais: "with Ramos in the center of the defense, Madrid not only closes better, but can also play much more forward because the boy has the physique to cover an ocean at his back and still have enough energy to cover the flank of Marcelo, which converts Marcelo into one more winger. The attacking adventures of the Brazilian are no longer intrepid voyages".
The rotation between the two is starting to remind me of Emery's tinkering between Soldado and Aduriz. I see no reason as to why Ronaldo can't have a break every so often. Pipita and Benz have equalled or bettered his form this season and he's only hit the bench once. I'm intrigued how they would play together as I still have fond memories of how they played in the Mestalla around Christmas '09.
Definitely agree here. They gave Levante a heck of a fight as well. I hope we just win and play smoothly with confidence.
I loved that game man They also put on quite the show at the Mestalla last spring too... As for Barca's result that served those Cules right they were beyond arrogant in their second half approach. That Sociedad comeback against them though is an example of why the way we take our foot off the gas matters. But fixture by fixture this team is improving in almost every aspect, including the way we take our foot off the gas, the difference in the second halves against Malaga and Villareal were like night and day so I expect more of the same tomorrow if it (hopefully) comes to that
According to that graphic, since that game they have gone on a terrible run. Any away game could potentially be difficult, but in our current form, I don't see anything but a win.
I need to go take a shower and ask for my sins to be forgiven, because in exactly 8 minutes the sky will open and Mou will give his press conference. BRB
Sociedad didn't win once in their last five games. In the form Real Madrid is at the moment, I think Sociedad doesn't stand a chance.
Agree with everyone about this one being a bit tricky. An early goal or two would be nice to quiet the crowd down a bit. Looking for a big game from Ozil. Will Sahin make the squad list for this match?
From Mou: "Nuri Sahin has trained two days with the team. We must be careful and adapt him to the group's dynamic slowly. He'd like to play now, but we don't want to take any risks. He is a very important player to us because we don't have someone to replace Xabi."
It's nice to see them take it slow but he can't get 5 or 10 minutes if the team is winning by 3-4 goals. Please. What happens if Xabi goes down injured in the game, whihch is always a possibility. What happens if we take it slow with Nuri for the next 6 months and he goes down injjured in his first minutes? At some point he's going to play and I say if the doctors think he's fit and we have the game under complete control, why not? Sure he might not have game fitness or form, but he'll aquire it alot faster playing the game than he will watching the game.
He isn't match fit. He's trained with the team for 2 days after a 6 month lay off, so calm the hell down, he'll get some playing time sooner or later. It would be foolish to play him immediately after such a long period on the side lines, just for the sake of playing him.
