    Betis 1 Madrid 1

    1-0 Capi 34
    1-1 Raul 50

The pace of the game is high since this is a mini sprint.
Real Madrid is pressuring. Casillas made a great save on shot by Denilson.

Are the lineups the same as in the first part of the game? If not they should be, at least I think so.

No as long as the players were inscribed in the club and the FEF they can start anyone of them. Ronaldo started the game.

As I tried to say before. The lineups should be the same since this is a continuation of the game, not a new game. If a player who started before cannot play for a legitimate reason then fine. But if it is for tactical reason then they should have to use a sub if a new player is started at this point.

While Madrid pressed in the beginning -Ronie had a good chance-, in the last 15 minutes tehy seemed glad with the tie. Betis had then chances to get another lead.
Betis players protested that Raul's goal was in offside, but in the TV it was clearly seen that Arzu unmade it.
    Raul is probably injured -again-.

Here is the last 46 minute summary:

Saldudos y Viva Er Eurobeti manque alfonso y lopera!

Congradulations Pichi! I see you made the first team. :) Seriously, as much as I hate to, I have to hand it to Betis. Eight points after the first five games against Depor, Real Madrid, a rejuvinated Real Sociedad, Barcelona and the derby with Sevilla should have Fernandez and crew feeling really good about thier chances.

As for Real Madrid, a point in this match is a good result. I feel really good about this team. They seem to be playing together very well.

I swear I was there! Even though I was in my office with the short wave radio on and wearing my Betis jersey cheering them on!

We all said on the list that these first 5 games were going to set the tone for the remainder of the season. The only area where we need to improve is on defense, but unlike other years at least we know that the team has the ability to score goals and if they are a goal down can come back!

musho betis not for too long .
pichi you were saying that betis was going to win this game.
betis will not win the title never did never will.
and like all fernandez teams, they will run out of gas and lopera can go back into blaming the referees.

You never know what could happen in La Liga. Betis is capable of winning this league and deserves to be listed as a contender. I think they won the Liga once before in their history.

That is correct, the only other team that I support which has a longer dry spell are my beloved Chicago Cubs! 94 years and counting!

BTW-Betis should have won the game yesterday, they had the run of the play for all but the first 10 minutes which is when Madrid scored and Zidane put one on the woodwork. After that Madrid played for the tie and let Betis dominate. Last year Betis beat Madrid 3-1 early in the season and I have reason to believe that had this game not been interrupted due to the electrical problem Betis would be in third place with two additional points!

La liga is still anyones to win or lose, as the teams that are currently up there except for Real Sociedad have European fixtures so the team with the best bench should win the liga this year!

Saludos and viva er eurobeti manque alfonso y lopera!

Funny that someone from Real Madrid has to make that comment about Lopera and the referees when most knowledgeable people who follow the liga to include reporters know that Madrid and Barca tend to get more calls in their favor then do some of the lessor teams. One will only have to take notice when your beloved Ronaldo starts dropping in the box the number of PK's that will be called in favor of Madrid will rise and those of you who are lucky enough to see "Estudio Estadio" will get a chance to see the moviela scenes where other players who are fouled the same way or worse will not get the PK called in their favor. The same goes with the yellow/red cards. If the tackle on Valeron did not get whoever it was a red card and suspension, what would have happened had the receiver of that foul been Zidane or Ronaldo, the press and Madrid would be calling for the head of the other player and a long suspension.

I for one am glad that other teams for once are winning the liga, it's about time that Madrid discovers what the NY Yankees have discovered of late, that you can't buy yourself a title anymore you have to earn it!

You see "Estudio Estadio" - spain soccer tv show -or you see what you want to see.

If you had seen "Estudio estadio", you had seen the three Penalty kick against the Real Madrid - two nonexistents - and the Michel Salgado Red card against Salgado in only five "la liga" games. And what has happened? Nothing. What would have happened if the Real Madrid had been the beneficiary. Whow, The Barcelona press and Many PEOPLE LIKE YOU would be telling all type of things.

What happen the last year in the final of "la copa del rey" - spain's cup- final?. The Antimadridistas said that all was prepared for the Real Madrid to win because the final was in the day of its centenary. They said that when the Deportivo - the other finalist - had past one round without play because the other team had artificial pitch, and other round helped by noexistents pk.On the other hand , the Real Madrid had played two rounds playing against teams with artificial pitch when the team wasn't forced by law to play in that pitch. The result, the Real Madrid lost the final and all the Antimadridistas happy. What had happened if Real Madrid had won the final? they had said "all was prepared".

And in "la liga" the same. The Valencia President said "we only can be the seconds in the Real Madrid Centenary year". The result, they won "la liga" and now all is happiness. If the Real had won the would be saying "we already said it".

    EXCUSES!!!!!!!!!

We know how to earn titles because we have won more titles that anyone and against teams that spend much more money in players that us.

We won the 7th Campion league in 1998 against a the Juventus in which played Zidane, Del piero, etc.

We won the 8th against in 2000 against Valencia without Zidane, Figo or Ronaldo.

We won the 9th against the Bayern with Figo and Zidane, but against teams like the Barcelona, Lazio, Roma, Inter, Lazio, etc that, again, had spent more money that us.

And we will fight to win this year against teams like the Manchester, Milan, Juventus, etc that AGAIN had spent more money in players that us. And if we lost we won't search excuses.

And Madriz only had said the true.

Viva el Real Madrid pese a los Antimadridistas !!!

Pleasssssssssse! I don't watch Estudio Estadio. I do watch Gol a Gol on Canal Sur, which gives a much deeper review of the games, and on occasion El Dia Despues on Canal Plus, who gives questionable calls green or red lights. Maybe in the distant past this was true, I don't really know. But there is no way an objective fan or media member can honestly say Real Madrid or Barcelona get all the calls. MadridForever mentioned some examples, there are many others. Did you by any chance see the hit Roberto Carlos took in the Valladolid game? Definitely a red card level hit.

As a Real Madrid and Sevilla fan, I will give your team its deserved due for starting so well during these five tough games. But don't be mistaken, I still hope Betis loses all games, except against Barcelona.

One more thing, I do hope you are enjoying my Cardinals run in the playoffs. :D

P.S. Pena of Vallidolid, (not Real Madrid or Barcelona), took out Valeron.
