i doubt this will happen. i believe shevachenko and joaguin are much more likely targets. personally tho, if i was real madrid, i would sell ronaldo, play guti up front, and buy a defense.

Figo said he will stay with Real Madrid until end of his contract in 2006, then he´ll return to Portugal as the finish of his career.

It would be pretty funny listening Beckham speaking in spanish. He should start to learn, if he doesn´t, if those rumour of David joining Real became true Ja,ja.
Will he match to spanish football?
Many rumours, many rumours, I want the truth.

Beckham to Madrid makes no sense to me. Under Florentino, all megasignings have to agree to let Madrid control or own that player's "image rights". To allow Madrid a significant cut of his off-field earnings selling his likeness would be a loser for Beckham. The glory that is to be a Madrid player does not compare with the millions he'd be losing if he plays for them. Why did Zidane and Figo sign such contracts while being better players than Beckham? Well, one scowls and the other is balding and the Madrid trademark helps them sell. Neither can sell Pepsi like Beckham can on his own, though.

Unless Beckham joins with a small transfer fee and salary demand.... and someone wants Figo for big money. I don't see real madrid downgrading their right side.

Who is the best defender in the world?????

Casillas: Beckham Couldn't Get A Game For Real

Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has told David Beckham that he couldn't get a game for the Spanish Champions and that Luis Figo was a better player.

The Manchester United star had been linked with Real ahead of Tuesday's quarter-final between the two sides. He failed to make any impact on the match as United crashed to a 3-1 defeat at the Bernabeu.

"Right now Beckham wouldn't get a game for Real Madrid," said Casillas.

"Figo this year is better than the first year he arrived. He showed he was better than Beckham."

Will Beckam have place in this Real Madrid?

I'm not sure. For me, there are three posibilities:

1- Change Figo to the left. He played very well with both legs, we'll lost something but maybe not too much.

2- Put Beckam in the middle. it could be a good solution but we will have a too offensive team even for the Real Madrid. Maybe for the home games could be a solution.

3 - Put Beckam in the left.¿? I don't know if he has played in that position.

Well, I think that if Beckam come to the team Del Bosque will have a hard job to make a team with all the stars in starting line-up. But Del Bosque has made very good the job in the last years. He request all the years a central defender and a good midlefielder, and Florentino always sign a offensive superstar. But the team finally always works.

    Here
    Not so sure

I dunno I wouldn't be so sure about having Backham in the middle. I think we have a pretty impressive Midfeild, and I don't see any reason to add.

We are, were, and will be doing great weather we have him or not. I absolutely don't see the need.

Probably the Valdano is the only one that insists on having him in the squad. And it is abvious why, as long as he sells shirts then Valdano is satisfied.

Real Madrid say no deal for Beckham

MADRID (AFP) - England captain David Beckham will not be going to Real Madrid under any circumstances, according to a Real Madrid statement.

The European champions took the unusual step to try and stop rumours that Manchester United's inspiration freekick specialist would be moving to the Bernabeu stadium.

The Madrid statement read: "Because of information in various sections of the press on the existence of Real Madrid interest to sign David Beckham, the club would like to make clear:

"1. There is no contact between Real Madrid and Manchester United on this subject.

"2. There has been no direct or indirect contact between Real Madrid and Beckham.

"3. Contrary to the rumours on this matter, Real has no intention of negotiating the signing of Beckham.

"4. That, despite the club rule not to use official channels to deny rumours, this statement was sent out to finally put an end to the uncertainty created by certain sources in linking Beckham to Real Madrid.

"5. In spite of the rumours, there is an unconditional, friendly relationship between the two clubs and respect for Beckham."
