honestly, I don't know much about them, besides Hurtado, Noriega and Tenorio, but Lecaro played with Alberto Spencer, and was part of the team that nearly qualified to a WC back in the 60's. he get's my vote, along with Hurtado ofcourse! that man is still writing history!
Holguer Quinones, that guy was champion with vasco da gama in the 90's he's the best centerback we had in our history
I will also jump the band wagon and say that Hurtado and Quinonez were the best 2 we have had. And let's not forget, Hurtado ain't done yet!
He did play in Europe, although for a short time, in Union Madeira of Portugal if I remember correctly. He went there right after his championship winning season with Vasco Da Gama, those were definitively his best days.
Hurtado is by far the leader, and Quinonez is by far his closest rival, so it is safe to say, he and Quinonez are the best of all time (according to Bigsoccer poll). so the dream team looks like this so far: -----------------Jose Francisco Cevallos-------------- ------Ivan Jacinto Hurtado----Holguer Quinonez-------- let's make a poll for best left backs and right backs of all time.
Ivan Hurtado Rules !! http://www.cre.com.ec/futbolnac/detallenoticias.asp?ID=69742 http://www.mercuriomanta.com/sistema.php?name=noticias&file=article&sid=14284
I'll stick to Ivan Hurtado, but I'd respect him immensely if after this Qualifying cycle he hangs up his boots
