The meet and greet was amazing! Thanks to the players for the team signed RU ball! For those who missed the event, you truly missed out! Art and his team held an amazing intimate and personal event fans in any league would enjoy!

RU is off to a blazing start! I cant wait to see how far this team will go!

Why is Reading running a bus trip for fans to come and root for Chivas on Saturday? (http://www.facebook.com/readingunited)

I can understand his family, but still, I think a Reading United bus trip is a bit much, and if anything support should be neutral, not pro-Chivas....

Zarek is an alumni of our PDL team. Naturally, the support will be for the Union to win, but also for Zarek to do well.

It's not all unlike your favorite athlete being traded as a fan favorite, then returning. You wish them well, but obviously want your team to win!

I guess I misread that as saying that 200 people were taking a bus trip run by RU to show up wearing red and white and support Chivas.

"all decked out in red and white to cheer him and the team on."

.....seems pretty clear to me... and it doesn't sound anything like the unity that was being promoted so heavily for our friendly.

The 200 "fans" that are cheering Zarek have no connection to our bus trip. We're offering the bus trip to not only see the Union beat the Goats, but also see an alumni performing well in the MLS, even if it is with another team.

We're not wearing red and white, or anything of the sort. You can support both the Union and an individual on the other team without fighting allegiances.

you are posting this in a less than ideal thread to get all that good info because it is going off topic ...

The Union team is 5W-0L-4D at home so far this year, and currently sits in first place in the east. Look for quotes from players who acknowledge the SOBs role in creating a fun fan atmosphere at home and energy for the team, or opposing players who say that PPL is a tough place to win in.

GNA on for tonight? My Dad mentioned he heard from somebody at work (who was supposed to be at some kind of going away party there last night) that they were away on vacation or something. Figured I'd check here.

If it is on, would one of you in the area be willing to give me a lift? (I'm in Hyde Park. Across from Fairgrounds Mall.) Would be much appreciated. PM and I'll get you my cell number.

Reading United's late season collapse is complete as they crash out of the playoffs at home. Reading stumbled to a 0-2-2 record in their final four matches, sliding from the top of the table to the play-in game. In some ways, their late season swoon is deceiving because they lost their top attacking players--Will Bates (6 g, 3 a), Brian Ownby (4 g, 3 a), and Brian "Cobi" Span (1 g, 2 a)--to professional trials in Sweden and summer school. The trio appeared in a small number of matches (Bates in 6 games, Ownby in 4 games, and Span in 5 games), and Reading was a vastly different team with them in the lineup. That being said, if United signs players with commitments to school or seeking other professional opportunities, they have to deal with the repercussions.

To any and all Sons of Ben / Bearfight Brigade / Supporters / What-have-you we have talked with the ownership of Mott's Lower Level Pub in Kenhorst/Shillington and we are hosting a Union viewing party for the match on Saturday. Needless to say the match is a huge one for the team and Mott's has offered to host with drink specials and full sound for the game. Mott's is a cash-only bar but features cheap drafts as well as an incredible mix of imports and microbrews by the bottle. I will post updates once I hear what the official specials are.
