1 Chivas: Arturo Torres 1 SLC: Andy Williams ESPN commentators implied that perhaps Williams was picked up for his trade value. Also mentioned Mathis as a possibility for coming to SLC 2 Chivas: Orlando Perez
RSL takes Pablo Brenes #3 Metrostars protect Zach Wells did Chivas and RSL get those last picks mixed up?
ESPN: "Is Andy Williams going to be trade bait?" Ellinger: "No, he's going to play in Salt Lake...he's had a couple of great years..."
Chivas: Francisco Gomez with fourth And I thought SLC was the one with the reputation for names ending in "z"... Kamler comes to SLC with the #4 pick.
Williams just said that he spoke with Ellinger last night and was told that he would be playing behind Kreis and Mathis. He spoke as if it were a certainty that Mathis is coming.
SLC gets Chris Brown (#6), and Behncke (#7) oh, and Rusty Pierce (#8) wow, this is so much less tedious than the NFL and NBA drafts...
Wait, so what happened after RSL picked Ziadie? Did they protect Vaca? Why the hell don't we pick Vaca? And who did Chivas pick next? Could someone do a complete list as it occured?

Just a few comments from a Revolution supporter: Brian Kamler will provide you with some quality minutes, but he's no longer a 90 minute guy. That being said, you could not find a better teammate, mentor to younger players, and all around nice guy. Rusty Pierce has battled injuries over the past few years, but he gives you options in defense. IMHO, he's a better right back than center defender, but his position play has improved over the last two years, and no matter what you may heard from United supporters, so's his attitude; he's no hack. The concern with Rusty is this: he's out of contract come January 1, he's looking for a significant salary increase, and would not be averse to exploring options overseas. You got two hard-working players who bring different things to the table, but both pretty good players. The Magpie
Watched it all on ESPnews: 1st thought, Eric Wynalda once again showing his stupidity. When asked about the team names and their historical context, he goes on about the many well known players who will not be picked up in this draft because of the teams wanting youth. Unbelievable, Rob Stone--although not great, comes off so much better than wynalda. 1. Although I don't know how it will work out, Williams has the best on the ball talent in the draft. Also has his green card so he won't be a SI. 2. DJ Countess--that should put the overpriced coming back to the States EPL goalies rumor to bed. I know the relationship with Ellinger is there; I would have preferred Ring. Walker makes too much to be taken. 3. Brenes--Watched some of the Costa Rican olympic games and was impressed. Still has to prove he can be an everyday player. I like taking Erick Scott to have another Costa Rican on the team. 4. Kambler--decent left foot for set pieces and will work hard. Don't think you should pencil him in as a starter 5. Akwari--solid pick; good defender, not too quick and is prone to some mistakes, especially when running one -on -one. 6. Chris Brown--so his wife is from Utah, sold some more season tickets. 7. Betnicke-- will see, cannot be relied on to start yet 8. Rusty Pierce-- if healthy, we have a guy who will foul anything moving; and please rusty, cut your hair. 9. Kevin Ara ?????? 10. Erick Scott -- never even given a shot in Columbus and their 1 forward, 3 midfield, and 6 defender Greg The DRULER Andrulis scheme. Can compete for a spot. Another Costa Rican.
