Hudson picks up Kovalenko from Shitcago, who get Mapp in return.

So far the Filth have dumped:

    Moreno
    Pope
    Williams
    Mapp

    And have received:

    Petke
    Kovalenko
    A Major allocation
    A first round draft pick

Which latter gives them four of the first 14 picks (1,5,11,14) AND two allocations.

The Fire dump some salary and get Justin Mapp to go with Kelly Gray and Craig Capano as an outstanding set of youngsters.

Dc continues to make itself by far the easiest team to hate.

    Short term, absolutely.

This was strictly a salary cap play by the Fire, who are STILL in trouble. The rumor now seems to be a deal similar to Bob Rifle in CBus last season involving Hristo moving over to DC and splitting his salary between coach and player budgets.

Plus, frankly, with Sarachen taking over the Fire, he probably wants to get younger.

Are there any other "tough and passionate" players available for United? Pretty soon we'll hear Crew-United trade rumors involving Chad McCarty.

add to that beasley & boac and you have some of the better younger talent right now, and in the near future, in mls. damn, two years from now chicago could potentially have a devestating line-up and that sucks...and they have a coach that loves younger players and tends to do well developing them...

I'd like both of these teams to rot in hell. Thank you.

Don't forget Ariel Graziani. My only wish now is that Hudson would move to pick up this f#ck... Then we could truly have a team that we want to rot in hell.

I'm expecting DC to announce they've acquired Jim Rooney, Ariel Graziani and Rick Titus any day now.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Crew is engaged in some chat about a player or two, but bear in mind that the teams who are moving players back and forth are the crappiest teams in the league.

Chicago is building a team for a couple years down the road, IMO, and Hudson simply wants to get a bunch of grizzley old hardasses who will play his style of smashmouth soccer, along with some draft choices - not because he wants them, because he clearly hates kids and won't play them, but because they'll fill out the roster without costing much.

Teams like us, and New England, and San Jose, who all think we HAVE good teams and are planning on making a run at the salami are not engaged in this frantic Chinese fire drill.

Reminds me of the old original Star Trek episode where the Klingon guy yells "Go away - we need no help hating humans"

They can come up with all the phony, bogus "Cups" they want to try and create all the "rivalries" they want; we KNOW who we hate, and we don't need some PR flack to invent a bunch of crap.

We need no help hating The Filth.

I realize it's a money thing, but I can't believe anyone would want Kovalenko over Mapp.
I'm with Bill and Chris. They're both cr@p teams, and to know them is to hate them. [IMG]

I just typed a message about another post making me laugh.

I take that message back. This "chinese fire drill" reminds me of the simpson's episode where they climb the mountain for a "teamwork drill". The scene early in the episode when they're leaving the power plant

You guys really hurt my feelings. Here I was pulling for you in the playoffs. (Since DC never gets there any more, I have to look around for a team come the post-season).

You should take the hate as a compliment! We never lost any sleep over The Mutiny because they never were much of a threat to us. I sat through too many games that DC was able to dash our dreams of a playoff series victory and MLS Cup.

The only teams I hate are NY and LA, and that's nothing against them personally, just that I like to see other cities get a shot at the big time. It seems to me that MLS bends every elastic rule it has to try to make LA and NY/NJ winners -- did any rule ever get bent so you could have a shot at a Matthaus or Hernandez?
