ray's first year in miami was mediocre then he got free reign to bring in new talent in the offseason following his rookie year. he got preki, henderson, llamosa, chacon and bishop.

so after a poor opener he again brings in talent, admittingly at a bit of a risk by losing people like eddie pope. but now ernie stewart is there and possibly histro as well as other new faces.

DC United will be back to winning ways, thanks to ray hudson.

Ray is the man. He has already proved to be a better coach then that dude that killed DC.

One thing though thats abit off topic. Why is it in Steve Goffs article Ray was quoted as denying a trade with Dallas, as the USA TODAY states that it was all the way around. Ray wanted to trade the first pick for Vaca according to USA today.

Both sources are good and rarely differ, but this is odd. Dont know which to believe.

I have faith in Ray. I will give him a shot. He can't be worse than Rongen, and at least he acknowledges the fans. He's made decent moves, and this will be the year we turn it around!

Being a better coach than Rongen makes nobody the man. It merely makes one not a complete and utter idiot.

I remain skeptical about Ray. One very good season in Miami proves nothing. We will never know whether he could have maintained those winning ways over several seasons. He has yet to prove that capacity.

Hudson was in friday's Post saying that Dallas had offered Vaca, that DCU had considered it, but ultimately talks had broken down and DCU wanted to keep the pick.

Vaca is a nice player but Eskandarian does more for us than does Vaca. And be more interested in spending any spare cap room on a D-mid. And we've got invites to nonroster players from overseas--I'd bet that at least one of them is a D-mid candidate.
