At least Rupert tried to buy Man U several years ago. I think soccer would have much more exposure in the US if Rupert did indeed control the media. Media monopolies aren't always a bad thing I also hate it when they refer to DCU as "The DC United", they always do that on Channel 4 when George "I Hate Soccer" Michael and the gang deem MLS worthy of their coverage. It's a shame too because I remember back during the World cup George Michael going gaga over the soccer...he even jumped on the bandwagon and said he enjoyed watching the matches.
If soccer had the open substitution rules of pointy ball I would sign Mia just to take free kicks and corners and then pull her out before she gets run over. She is as accurate on dead ball kicks as any man I have seen, including Etch and Hristo.
