Who else heard this? It was the first guest segment on the show, went for 20 minutes or so, and it was fantastic stuff - as if the Fox Sports Report had suddenly hired competent and interesting anchors and let them go at each other "PTI"-style.

Most of the discussion was about David Beckham, with Ray arguing that ManU had offloaded a talented - but one-trick - player for more than he should have been worth, while Tommy argued more on the side that Beckham was one of the 5 best players in the world.

When the topic came to the rumored feud between Sir Alex Ferguson and Beckham, Kornheiser asked Ray if he had ever coached any difficult personalities. Ray said yes, and Tommy pressed him, asking for names. Ray named our own Hristo Stoitchkov and, shock of shocks, Diego Serna :) But he also said that great talent comes with great ego, and he didn't mind it...

Believe it or not, he actually mentioned it after the segment was over! He said that he hadn't had a chance to ask him about it, and then went into what Ray did.

That, BTW, indicates how good the segment was - Ray and Tommy were going so rapid-fire that they never gave Kornheiser a chance to talk.

Ray is such a great talent evaluator - NOT! Beckham's at least a 2 trick player :)

Sir Stanley Matthews was, in his day, also a one trick player.
