The CAF really needs to fix its format. I'd say keep the play-in round + the 10 groups of 4, but the 10 group winners should play in 2 groups of 5 in the final round (AFC-style) to 1) let the big teams in Africa play each other more often and 2) increase the chances that the best teams qualify...including Algeria.

I'm afraid that with the African Cup of Nations there won't be enough qualification dates.
