curious to see what this board thinks of several argentine league strikers....Castillo is the only one I know anything at all about...

lazio has long been in love with argentine players, tho I fear in recent times we are shopping at the discount rack!...

If you're talking about pure talent, I think Castillo is the best. The knock on him seems more of attitude ( don't take it bad Ilovecolumbia) Zarate is good. Just coming back from an injury. I would say he is more consistent than Castillo. Maybe I'm wrong, but Zarate seems more of a pure goal scorer while Castillo can be more creative with the ball ...

  9. castillo is like adriano zarate is like rivaldo

thanks for the opinions guys, sounds like either Castillo or Zarate would be decent options for us...we can use creativity and a pure goal scorer :)

this is one I dont understand, best I can tell he's a defensive central midfielder that has played over 40 times for the Venezuelan national team...and he cant even make it onto the subs bench for Lazio despite injury problems/lack of talent in that position...

I thought he would play today in our first Coppa Italia match but he did not...my guess is he goes back to south america in january.

No matter who you get, I hope Lazio gives him a real chance. It seems like a revolving door out there. One or two non productive games and adios ....

how big is the possibility that either one could go come January? does the club have money to invest?

after watching River-Independiente today, Castillo still makes all the moves he usually makes, runs with the same intensity, but it seems that the club is not "gelling" together anymore.........sad cause I'm a fan of both him and the club. :(

I think the possibility is decent, our new owner Lotito is a good businessman...he brought over several south americans on loan with a purchase option. One that is working out is the argentine defender Talamonti who they will pay outright for now. I can see him trying to make a similar deal for a striker in January.

JAIRO ALSO WENT OUT AFTER 73 MINUTES, lost the game 3-0!

for any team with money, the right investment is zarate over castillo: younger and with the right 6th sense to score. Castillo is not a young puppy any more, his size is better for il calccio!

ilocombia's exageration: pls do not put castillo in the same sentence with adriano!

  16. castillo is just as good as adriano hes more complete than zarate zarate might be able to tap the ball in if needed but you have to have a midfield that will give him the ball at his feet castillo is esperienced has played in 5 libertadores can play a supporting attacking posistion and can also play midfield he is just as good as jaun pablo angel to say

He was pretty cool in Velez, then in América de Cali, the game against River was great, but here in Independiente he hasn't shown his potential.

  18. hes scored as much as he can with them hes not a top goal scoring forward hes more of a support forward almsot like angel

Castillo? I am sorry never heard of him.
All I know is that Crespo used to play for lazio, and Caludio Lopez is still in Lazio.
These two players deserve to be in Argentinian national team.
I actually rate Lopez higher than Kily Gonzalez.
