Just because. The biggest surprise is seeing Piermayr two yellow's away from suspension. Credit for his determination and efficiency. I predicted 5 points in the tough stretch of games ending with this game. Barring a win and two draws Friday night, I will be humbled by my optimism. As for the formation and line up, I predict the Rapids will produce both although the former may not be obvious.
I didn't even realize that this game was Friday until just now. Losing streaks have a way of making you not give a shit. I guess if the club can't be bothered to fix their CB issues, than I shouldn't be expected to remember minor things like game times and dates.
2-1 loss. Goal by Brown. What in the last 6 games leads anyone to believe we'll win tomorrow night? http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2014/09/rapids-try-to-avoid-seven-in-row.html
If the roles were reversed and Rapids were the team on a hot streak and LA on a historic losing streak and rolling into the Dick I'd say "it's a trap". Pretty sure tomorrow's game is not. At least for LA.
The sad part is I almost repped jimijam's prediction of a 2-1 win because I thought it was funny sarcasm. (I'm still not sure if it was real or not.) How bad is it when you wonder whether a 2-1 victory prediction is legit? Oh my. Last Saturday, I forgot the game was in the afternoon instead of evening. I used to organize my weekends around Rapids games; now I miss the first 20 minutes because I was looking at fireplace inserts.
Here is my optimistic posting for the game: The guys play as motivated as they did last week against Seattle. LAG is down 2 key players to international duty and is looking past Colorado. Sanchez and Torres both are happy to be playing. Nascio is playing for a starting job somewhere next season (Colorado/trade/expansion draft). Lady Luck finally shows the happy face to the Rapids instead of the sad face. The Rapids manage to squeek a goal in and hold the Gal's scoreless. Having been burned 6 times in a row, it doesn't feel possible. Early season, yes. Last 6 games, not so much. Take your pick. rod.
Jason posted this in the N&A forum's pbp thread...I didn't realize last week they only tied the record:
Nasco Klute - Piermayr - Wynne - Burch Jose Mari Serna - Powers - LaBrocca Brown - Buddle Bench: Irwin, VDC, Hairston, Alvarez, Torres, Sanchez, Eloundou Per Twitter Sanchez not starting, Jason not pleased.
Hmm, what formation is this do you suppose? Brown on the left wing with Power and Buddle as forwards? #Rapids96 Starting XI vs @LAGalaxy: Nasco; Klute, Piermayr, Wynne, Burch; Serna, Jose Mari, LaBrocca, Brown; Powers, Buddle. #LAvCOL— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) September 6, 2014
Wait, the keeper can't grab an opposing player by the legs in front of the goal and pull them down? New ways to lose games...new ways.
