    WOOOOHOOOOOO!

If it's in Boulder, I urge you to make every effort to get up there. You're going to see some pretty darn good soocer for a VERY reasonable price, even if they raise prices above the regular season 5. I wish I could go, why does it have to be a weekend that I'll be out of town?

I may have to make a day out of this...
Check out the ASG @ Croc's and then shoot up to Boulder...

to get to Pleasant View from Denver:

    1. US36 to Boulder
    2. Exit onto Foothills Parkway
    3. Stay on Foothills until you pass Valmont (5th light)
    4. After Valmont, Take next exit on your right (big, curving exit that will U-turn you back)
    5. Look for the Sinclair gas station. Turn right just before it.
    6. Turn right again onto 47th (runs parallel to Foothills Parkway)
    7. 47th will take you over Foothills -- entrance to Pleasant View will be on your left.

Alsom, as soon as you cross over Valmont you should be able to see the fields to the northwest. They're a bit brown and dry right now.

Thanks to last night's 400-acre fire, the view of the foothills is going to look a bit different...

Looks like they did it again! 5-1 over the So. Cal. Seahorses. Don't have any details, and can't find a link for more information beyond the scoreline.

They will play the Cape Cod Crusaders in Cape Cod this weekend, television on FSN. Cool!

I was at this game and was a one way beating, kind of like when Pesci and his gang crushed the guy's head in a vice in Casino. Kind of boring actually, even though our team won. Then again, I'd loved to be "bored" by the Rapids this way. Saw the Seahorses on the town in PRB, even the Ayatollah.

I've been to the past four BRR games and there's no doubt about it, they're playing the most entertaining and consistent soccer in Colorado.

The PDL may just be a summer league for the college kids, but they sure seem to play with a lot more passion than the hometown MLS side.

Watching them send the Sea Ponies to the glue factory really made me wonder, would the average Rapids attendee even know the difference if they took the field in Invesco this week against the Crew?

Now, I'm not saying that the BRR can compete with the Crew, or the Rapids, or any MLS side. But the overall quality was there, and it looked just as good as MLS product we've seen in the state -- including visiting teams -- in the past month or so.

On the pitch it is celar there is passion and team unity in the BRR -- where is it in the Rapids? Might it have something to do with changing the team entirely every single year? Or the fact that the Mop gets ultra-special treatment with or without results?

Kudos and thanks to the BRR for putting out some very entertaining, very satisfying soccer. I sure hope they're rewarded with some significant training time alongside the senior side -- maybe, just maybe they'll teach some of the pros a thing or two about passion and competitive fire.

As for the championship, gotta love that brilliant bit of planning by USL, scheduling the match to be played while MLS sides are in action.

A request of the front office: dont' tell us the score during the Rapids game!

I think the big difference is that half of the Rapids Reserve goals were on garbage defense by the SeaNags letting the ball bounce around in front of the net.

But then, there were some VERY impressive give-n-go breaks that really showed the quality of play in Boulder was miles ahead of the SeaNags (and perhaps entertaining enough to fool some Invesco Field fans).

Seems like the best time to evaluate the BRR was when they had some real talented competition a week ago to play against.

Good luck at the final (wish it was here)...

I don't think you're giving credit to the quality of finishing. The first three goals were the result of solid offensive effort -- two fantastic headed crosses and a pinpoint strike to the upper 90 from 26 yards out. Each of those were set up as a result of great passing and possession work down the wings and heads-up play in the box.

Furthermore, how many times have we seen the senior side squander their own "garbage" opportunities -- or quality opportunities, for that matter?

Also I find it hard to believe that the Horses could be such a weak side yet make it to the PDL semifinals. Undisciplined and young, and not knowing what to expect, OK. But just as they are a PDL opponent on a big game, the BRR stepped up and crushed them.

When have you ever been able to say that about the senior Rapids? How many times have we seen a weak, injured, and cellar-dwelling team come into Mile High only to walk out of the game with a loss (or 1-goal victory if we're lucky)?

My point is that the majority of people in attendance at Invesco wouldn't know the difference in the quality between a PDL game and an MLS game.
