Three points more toward playoffs are nice but this match is also helping goal difference, in fairness SJ gets 1/3 of the credit for that.
TBH SJ look like a mediocre team playing a system that doesn't work. This is a match we should win, and we're doing just that.

I am not a soccer coach, but otherwise a student of the game. I cannot figure out what San Jose is trying to do (except lose?). They try to 'pressure the puck' but let opponents turn on them, somewhat direct upfield without numbers, and are slow to get back.....oh wait Goal #4 letting unmarked MezQ walk into the box and slot in #4...........

Think they are trying to press everywhere by defending man-to-man all over the pitch. But it doesn't work if the opponent spreads out players and the ball, overlaps and moves players around like the Rapids are doing. I don't think it's a system you can use successfully at the pro level because teams can look at video and prepare and run you off the pitch.
The man marking system Almeyda deploys is laughable and a joke. It’s not revolutionary. It’s a disgrace. I cannot believe I am about this.... I feel bad for Wondo. Like legit feel bad. He doesn’t deserve that shit but...... we need points and we need goals. SJ spotted us both so I’ll be sending them an Xmas card if we get into the playoffs.
