No complaints yet. Still not sold on him as a starter, but after the last (almost) 2.5 games I'm starting to think he's not dead weight taking up a roster spot.
I am so fed up with the amateur defending by this team. The call was deserved. Somebody should teach Ugo and Gibbs you can play good defense without slide tackling everything.
He grabbed his shoulder, turning him, that alone could have been the call. Then he went for the ball/legs. He got away with it a few other times, not this time. Sorry, it's piss poor defending, bad decision making. Never mind letting the offensive player get into such a position in the first place.
I didnt see the few other times, I just turned it on(I am still trying to get used to the time change here in 'Zona). Then that would be another goal Gibbs has gifted NY.
I've got to agree with DavidJames on this one. With the way the games are called in MLS, that much physicality is taking a risk. Second half has started.
Gritty work by Clark and Harvey sees Rapids getting the ball back with Harvey making a nice pass back to Cummings for a sweet cross for Conor to bury. Conor's 8th on the season leads the MLS. NYRB 1 Rapids 2
I give full credit to Clark for that second goal. He could have let up, but he stayed with it to allow Harvey to poach it.
Cummings draws a PK that Ballouchy(!) buries, 3-1 lead. First 2 goal lead ever on the road under Smith.
Fumbles? That was hit with pace. Pickens has to punch that out and put it out the back. That big BIG mental mistake on Pickens part. This defense for COlorado better get a shutout next week.
15 minutes to defend a 1 goal lead. If NY finds a way to tie this they better damn well earn the 3rd goal. Two defensive flubs is enough.
Turf bounce just stole a golden chance from Clark. He got a pass right around the PK spot with nobody but the goalkeeper to beat but the ball bounced higher than expected and NY cleared.
So we're LaBrocca - Ihemelu - Gibbs - Harvey now. As if we didn't have enough mental lapses at center back already this game...
