Disagree - don't think we did enough in attack to deserve a win. I only remember Melia having 1 tough save. Defensively we definitely deserved the clean sheet. The back 3 were excellent.
Whelp, that was frustrating. The Pids deserved three points but didn't seem to have many ideas in the final third. Melia also had a great day. I like what I saw out of Kaye and he plugged into the lineup seamlessly. Lalas was a bit frustrating and out of position early on. Looked like a good night at DSG though ... I need to get back to Colorado!
Well deserved by Keegs tonight: Tonight's @HealthONEsystem Man of the Match: @K_J_Rose! pic.twitter.com/mc1ObN9uh9— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) August 8, 2021 Dude was everywhere breaking up everything.
I've been trying to tell people... xG was 2.9 to 0.4 in the Rapids favor. Kay's chance in the first half and Lewis' and Rubio's in the second were all greater than 50% chances.
On the ride home, a comment made by a family member, "that was worse than a loss." It reminded me of the draw v Seattle on July 4. More than enough chances for the Rapids and they just couldn't convert. Watching from the stands, Price's chance in the first half where he looked to be clear in the box only to hit it right at Melia was just brutal. Rosenberry indeed was good in covering up for others in this match. Rapids played three in the back with Galván and Beitashour as the wingbacks. Abubakar had a few too many misjudgements for my liking. Kaye began the match playing in an advanced position, but when Warner came out in the second half he moved back with Price. I thought he played okay, but missed some passes that perhaps in the future he won't with more time.
Full highlights, don't include the foul in the box that took away the Abubakar goal - https://www.coloradorapids.com/vide...rapids-vs-sporting-kansas-city-august-07-2021

I haven’t seen any replays but didn’t Price miss a dead on shot at the end of the first half? Not that Price is a sniper, but it looked from the side like half the net was open. Played a great game though. I thought Shinyashiki was dynamic in his six minutes or so. If he could just have that energy level for longer stretches.
He hit it right into pretty much the only place Melia could’ve saved it. I don’t think 80% of the keepers in the league save that shot, but it was well struck, powerful, and on the ground. Melia had to quickly quick out his left boot to get anything on it. Price was hitting it through traffic so not sure if he thought he could go far post, but it wasn’t exactly an easy save for Melia. Melia also had a couple other really great saves / positioning last night. Without him, it’s 2-0 for the Rapids for sure.
