Surprisingly, as soon as I post this, the Undercurrent gives us a greater update:

Due to the sensitivity of the situation, the Rapids are continuing to monitor Nico’s status.

    What does that even mean?

We're watching Nico to make sure he isn't doing anything silly...

I don't think Jeff Plush could have said it better himself...

We won't commit to anything until NYRB decides they want him, because we can drive his price up that way. If we don't commit, we also don't hurt his feelings when he comes back and doesn't play a single minute for us next year.

Can a mod change the title to something more general like "Rapids cut roster" or something?

People were wondering why he slipped so far in the draft as he had a good combine showing. This situation underscores why you can't take too much from the combine experience. I've heard the kid is talented. Good luck to him.

The bigger thing bothering me with that Undercurrent post, why are the Rapids playing college teams in pre-season while the rest of MLS is playing each other? Talk about easing into pre-season.

Once again the Rapids chose the isolation of Ft. Lauderdale rather than the competition of Bradenton. However, they will be playing matches with FC Dallas.

    Ft Lauderdale: Rapids & Dallas

Bradenton: DC United, NYRB, Columbus, Chicago FIRE, KC, Toronto, Puerto Rico, U-20 + U-17. However, fewer matches this year then usual.

In case you are wondering, there are 2 soccer locations at IMG Academy with at least 8 pitches. Most teams reside in the same suites motel approximately 1 mile from IMG. Very few fans attend the matches which are open to the public with written approval of your team for parking. Last year Blanco drew crowds at FIRE scrimmages. Following one such training session, Blanco met with fans, welcomed them to IMG and the Chicago FIRE (in Spanish of course) and signed autographs for everyone in attendance.

That's how I read it. (after laughing of course)
I think this is what the name on the back of the NJRB kit he’s practicing in says.

The article made it seem like we were interested in Seabrook for a developmental contract but he held out for the bright lights and piles of cash of USL soccer. I wonder if he had delusions about the pay scale of 4th round draft picks in this league. Did he expect a senior roster spot?

Perhaps he was referred to Dalby's agent and is about to commence on a year long European Holiday!
