With all the discussion the last few days about both completed deals (Mark-Anthony Kaye and Dominique Badji) and impending deals (Sam Vines and Lucas Esteves) I almost forgot that there's a match tomorrow night down in Texas. As always, I hope Fraser comes out in something like a 4-3-3 which indicates some level of aggression. Will the heat and humidity play a role in tactics and selection? It seems likely this could dictate the use of all five subs. And I wouldn't be surprised to see Badji at some point despite his recent acquisition. Hope Rubio is able to play. I'll be boarding a plan at the time of kickoff, so I expect a highly accurate account of the match from host posting
Thankfully, Austin’s newest DP signing - $7m transfer fee for Argentinian Attacking Midfielder Driussi - will not be available for Saturday’s match. Austin’s stadium is absolutely gorgeous, so hopefully the gameplay is as good as the stadium.
1-1 draw, goal by Rubio. Austin does not have a good offense. If you subtract the 3 goals we gave them in our opener they've scored 7 goals in the other 13 games they've played. They actually have a 1 goal better defense than we do, but again, that prior head-to-head matchup is the reason for that. (In 3 games we've given up 9 goals, in the other 11 we've given up 7). This is probably going to be ugly soccer played in heat with a diminished team and we'll be happy to get out of Texas with a draw. Stealing 3 points with a 1-0 win wouldn't be out of the question but not expected. http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2021/07/alright-alright-alright.html
I like your blog headline and picture. Anybody know a good place to watch this? Preferably without the delta variant.
Rapids 2-0 win based on they played a horrible game last week and Yarbrough was the main culprit. Both want to bounce back. I’ll go with Shin scoring as his future playing time is in jeopardy. The other being an own goal.
So last night I dreamt the Rapids lost 4-0. The last time I dreamt about the Rapds, it was the night before the FC Cincy game. In that dream they lost 3-0, and then in real life we won 2-0. So I guess that means we win tonight?

The guys need to be resilient tonight. Gonna be a warm and humid night, and not many options on the bench with all those injuries / international duties: Just need to survive this match and then we will be getting a TON of reinforcements.
Pretty good first 10 minutes. I thought it was a bad sign when Yarborough started time wasting in the 2nd minute.
Couple of wasted chances at the end. They will come back to haunt I think. Last game Austin came out flying in the 2nd half.
