The Rapids play Dallas today at 6:30 PM. Does anyone have a link to watch it? Otherwise I'll watch another game on ESPN + and provide commentary on that.

    I'll be watching on DirecTV.

I'm optimistic for another win. Don't think it'll be 5-0, more like 3-1.

I think the Rapids had the energy boost they needed against FSL. They played really, really well, and it looks like it’s transferred into training as well:

Nico doing a juggling bicycle to embarrass Yarbrough?

I think the team has a nice little swagger in their step right now and will ride the momentum into a 2-0 win tonight.

Dallas played Minnesota last Wednesday and Houston on Saturday - 2 hard fought games, so they will have as much rest as we do. As Jason said above, their offense isn’t so great but their defense is good. I expect them to play a low block and try to play counter attack with Michael Barrios. They Lost Ondrasek (Striker) over the weekend to a transfer, and their “young star” midfielder Pomykal is also out, another starting caliber mid in Bryan Acosta is out, and Fafa Picault will probably miss out on the game as well.

I think this is a prime game for the rapids to keep up their momentum. It will be muggy during the game (kickoff should be around 85 degrees, with somewhere around 50-60% humidity), but I don’t expect that to slow us down too much.

2-0 rapids, goals by Benezet and Rubio. Assists go to Namli for each

So you're treating it like a playoff game against Dallas?

Tired of them playing it safe honestly. We saw what the team is capable of on Saturday.

No more excuses. Just quality minutes from the players we spend “big” on (well, big for Cranky Stan Kroenke), and results. No reason we can’t go out there and win it tonight after Saturday’s game.

I think a tie takes the wind out of the teams sails, and a loss would be even worse. You gotta win this one - and in my mind, you need to go after it like we went after FSL on Saturday. Otherwise, what’s the point? (Pun intended )

Let's hope the destruction of FSL built some confidence in the Rapids' ability to score regularly with the opportunities they create. That was what was missing in the two or thee matches previous.

In terms of who starts, we have to factor in fixture congestion and fitness. The Rapids have another away match at LA on Sat., so my guess is there are a number of new faces in the starting XI. Players who may be in line to begin the match on the bench:
Abubakar (I don't think he's gotten a rest since the second restart)
    Vines or Rosenberry
    Price or Acosta
Shinyashiki (not the most scintillating performance this season)
Rubio (he's an energizer bunny, so he needs rest at some point)
    Namli

Perhaps Lewis and Galván start in the wide positions with Kamara in the #9 role. Benezet, if he's fit and healthy, could get a start as well.

    Trusty for Abubakar?

    Kelly for Rosenberry

    ? for Vines?

I would state that we'll see more than three subs tonight, but I don't think about these things like Fraser does.

    Lineup:

You got Abubakar on rest correct! Nice job

Based on the lineup...My sub predictions would be:

    Galvan for Namli
    Warner for Price
    Benezet for Lewis
    Kelly for Rosenberry
    Kamara for Rubio

    Not necessarily in that order

Kamara's not in the XVIII/on the bench tonight. So, Rubio comes out perhaps it will be Shinyashiki replacing him.

Shoot I didn’t even see that. I think I glanced and saw Abubakar and my brain translated to Kamara lol. Yeah, Shinyashiki in for Rubio as that sub.

It’s a shame Shinyashiki hasn’t been playing as well as he did last year. His first touches are really letting him down so far

Can you imagine trying to go 4 deep with the CBs we had at the start of last season, before we got Abubakar? Scary

Lucky to not concede when Barrios has the ball near the box with nobody on him. Neither Price nor Acosta anywhere to be seen.

This will be a interesting test for the D. Two new starters at CB and a new GK starter.

Trusty got smoked on the goal. Then Acosta slips. Ouch.

Dominated the first half and down 1-0. Hopefully we didn’t use up all of our goals on Saturday.

Rapids have 60% possession, outshot Dallas 10-6, outpassed Dallas 272-198 (89% to 79% accuracy, and 152 of our passes are in the attacking half), have 5 corners, and have 17 crosses.

    Down 1-0. What the heck.

They’ve got to find a way to button up on counter defense. When Dallas is breaking they are breaking with venom in their teeth. When the rapids are attacking, they’re just not making much of it. Aside from Lewis’s rattling of the post, and Namli’s whiff, what has the offense done that looks dangerous?

Second half is coming, I imagine Fraser has some ideas as to what to do. I saw him pulling Bassett aside around minute 30 and giving instructions. Look for the Rapids to have some serious attacking idea adjustments coming out of the locker room. I just hope that they can button up the defense on Dallas’s counter attacks. Dallas is just sitting back with a low block of 8, and then trying to break with Barrios on the counter. It’s working for them so far

Lewis needs work on his left foot. Can be defended by pushing him toward the goal line.

That's a good header - got power on it despite moving away from goal. Clint didn't see it until too late.

Well, that goal sucked....now that we’re back to a negative goal differential on the season, that means we can score again right?

    Rosenberry missed his mark. Ugh.

Someone has to make a play to give us a chance.
