    Time to revive?

Really, too early but it is never too early.

It’s tough for me to come up with more than a few feeble arguments that this loss isn’t 100% his responsibility.

Yeah this was ugly. Learning moment, let's see what he does with it.

    not an apparent coaching problem

lack of talent is much bigger issue

going from Basti-Niko-Nico-Katai to Giminez-Beric-Aliseda-Medran is a big step down in terms of firepower and creativity

Absolutely, Of the four, only Beric is what I call "good" so far.
    Medran has been okay.
Aliseda has been less than okay.
    Giminez has been a bust.

    Also,
Playing Frankowski as a wing back/defender does not help.
Not playing Mihailovic does not help.
Playing Herbers as a midfielder does not help. I know as a rookie he played in the midfield, and did okay, but he just does not seem like a midfield player.
Playing Collier, at all, does not help.
Of course, there are no other forwards on the team when Beric and Sapong are up top and Herbers is wallowing in midfield.

I do not understand why Djordje gets no run now for two coaches

the rumors of his difficulty personality is the only explanation

Beric had the nice move and goal first game, and pretty good hold up play, but did not look good today

Djordje is a difficult person. He has absolutely gotten better in that regard. Wicky just has this unexplainable love for Herbers.

  11. How disappointing. This is the worst Fire team ever. No one other than Beric can shoot and he is not great. I hate to say it, but I'd back up the truck and clean house. Passive, no energy, no idea how to develop plays. They stink.

I like Sapong. I bet they could be a fine MLS team with a bit of solid on field leadership. But those types of players don’t just grow on trees.

...and when they had them, lo those many...months ago, the brain-fart-trust squandered them. Criminal.

Atlanta fires their coach for losing three games; the Fire will do the same for losing three seasons.

Yeah I mean I'm worried about Wicky but there's nothing reasonable about sacking a coach after 5 games

I’m not saying Atlanta was right to make that decision, nor should the Fire (fire?) Wicky, but the level of expectation is clearly different between the two organizations.

One wants to win championships (and does) and the other wants to be relevant (and fails spectacularly at great expense).

Yes, that the scariest comment during the Thursday morning breakfast debacle.
The one the Fire were in the first decade: "always relevant."
Clearly, that is not really the case any more.

I remember a season where Palermo (forza Palermo!) hired/fired so many coaches in one season they ended up hiring the same coach they fired at the start of the season before firing him again. Something like 6 or 7 different coaches in one season.

I didn't like him subbing out Mihailovic just as he was creating problems for the Columbus defense, but it may have been due to the knock he picked up(?)

If not for injury, then I'm mystified...more so by inserting Collier...whom the announcer called a :"like-for-like substitution". Djordje should sue for defamation.

I think the announcer meant to say "like-for-human new born giraffe substitution".
