Albyn Jones is up, will be interesting to see how the subjective polls rate the teams tomorrow.

I just noticed that Marquette, ranked last week in 2 polls (Soccer Times and Soccer Buzz), now trails 3 teams in the Conference USA standings: Charlotte (ranked), Cincinnati (ranked in some polls) and St. Louis (unranked), and is tied with East Carolina and UAB.

Of course, me being a Billiken fan has nothing to do with me mentioning that. ;)

    What happened to Albyn Jones?

Where are the Albyn Jones ratings now? If you go to www.soccerratings.com you get some bizzare domain site.

They're back. It must have been a temporary glitch.

Re: Re: What happened to Albyn Jones?

It could have been a strictly local issue (local to that domain, I mean, not geographically local), something as simple as a mistake by his web provider or the bill not being processed in time. Or it could have been a more global issue because of something that's been happening the last few days. Short version, long story: the computer that translates the domain name we type in (www.bigsoccer.com, for instance) into an actual address for that particular machine (which would look something like 64.273.89.134--I just made that number up, no clue what BigSoccers DNS is) has been under a denial of service attack. It's been causing issues when people try to access websites. Not sure what the totality of the issues are, but I'd guess that people could be mis-directed as well as simply not being able to access the page. DNS servers are critical to the internet operating at all (major understatement of the day). Anyway, if you've been having problems accessing webpages in general the last few days, that's probably why.

Now that I have exposed myself as a major computer geek I'm going to sneak away....
