    41. Colombia
    54. Venezuela
    79. Peru
    80. Chile
    103. Bolivia

that is the best order, one more win from venezuela and peru and colombia should be relegated.

if Peru loses the next game and chile ties or wins, chile should be #8 and peru #9

please efe dont tell me your believe in fifa rankings

peru and chile might not be the greatest teams in south america
but there is no way ecuador colombia and venezuela are 30 + places better than us

the best way to rank south american teams is to go off the eliminatorias table might not be accurate but its a better indicator than the fifa rankings

YES I DO BELIEVE ON THEM

I do not like the fact that every WC the points do not get reset..... at least from 1 to 32nd place, but is the only way to keep organized track of the last 3 yrs, some say is 7 years of point collection from international competion.

I am sure Peru is closer today to colombia and ecuador, but not in the last 6 years or so.... copa america will show you how to move forward in FIFA rankings.

i personally believe the qualifiers are a better indicator of the true south american rankings

for example the last 3 times peru played venezuela
we won 2 they won 1

yet they are 20 places ahead of us

I'll post the computer picks (a note: the computer gauges results over time. Recent results are more heavily weighted, but Colombia still ranks as a strong side by the system, and you never know they could get it turned around):

    1 - Brazil
    4 - Argentina
    20 - Uruguay
    24 - Paraguay
    25 - Colombia
    33 - Peru
    35 - Chile
    36 - Ecuador
    59 - Bolivia
    61 - Venezuela

There's essentially four groups: Argentina and Brazil. Then Uruguay, Paraguay and Colombia are very close. Peru, Chile and Ecuador are very close and Bolivia and Venezuela are very close. Venezuela is ranked 61st in the World by the system, easily being the highest ranked bottom team of any confed.

I can sympathize with FIFA on deciding how many CONMEBOL teams should qualify for the WC. On the one hand there's only 10 teams so you really don't want to send too many, but on the other hand every team is quite good so if you don't give them enough slots it is a bit unfair.

    In a perfect scenario, yes!

but in a collection of points for the acomplishments of the last 5 yrs or more..... that is FIFA

for other polls see: espn or that kind of stuff

the quals standings are just a reflection of 5 or 6 games.... first round is not even over, means: SQUAT.
