Has anyone ever asked him about it, perhaps why did he do that? In the World Cup? wow

I saw this a long time ago but forgot about it.

    That takes, uh, balls.

Villarreal, somehow, has a stadium with capacity of 23k -- or about half of the city's population :)

No, I've never been to Inverness.

M: what's your point? How are they in SF?

    hmmm ... i wonder what he'd say????

let me think about that. no, can't think of any reason to do that. (i mean, other than "he had to go")

you can ask me about why i chose to breathe in oxygen today. i'd give you an equally illuminating response.

First why doesn't multiquote work anymore??

Second, why is this the best? You realise that more americans will follow rangers game due to dmb now than will brits right? I lived in glasgow for the gazzer years and they barely got any news of him down south.

And is in the rather larger conurbation of Valencia. Try looking where Inverness is located in relation to large population centers.

As bad as Atlanta, so why describe Inverness' attendance and capacity as "sad" when places with 100 times the population in the US can't even muster a team? By any measure, Inverness' attendances are actually pretty good for the population of that area.

Finally, after 20-odd years, someone answers the musical question:

Atlanta offers a bit more to do, however, compared to tipping cow country..

While Vila-real is within the borders of the Comunitat de Valencia, it is quite far (probably a 2 hour drive) from the conurbation of the city of Valencia.

It is well within the borders of the Province of Castellon, thus much closer to the city of Castellon de la Plana than to Valencia.

Perhaps the team you were thinking of was Levante.

Inverness survived a groundshare with Aberdeen upon promotion to the SPL. Tough not to like them, particularly if you prefer your Scottish football non-sectarian (as far as I know).

There's not a lot in Scottish football to prefer, though, without the sectarianism.

You could always support Gretna, this season's "victims" of not having a ground up to SPL standards. They're having to play their first-ever SPL season in Motherwell. Gretna, btw, has a population of just 2700!

Well there are 40 other senior teams that get by fine without an army of bigots, 39 if you discount Airdrie.

I think you guys need to give Scottish football a chance, you've seen precisely one league and you've decided its not good enough. I'll tell you one thing, from what i've seen and what some of my American friends say, its far more competitive than the MLS.

Perhaps that's why its more aggressive, as it matters more to the people: players and fans.

Scotland has only around 5 million people in it, and in England they have around 50 million people. The average Premiership attendance in the 2005/2006 season was around 34, 000, in the SPL in 2006/2007 it was 15,000.

So considering the population differential football between each countries top league, you could say soccer is much more popular in Scotland than in England.

Honestly, I was just stunned at the attendance level -- I had no idea that a well-known league had stadiums that small.
