The ‘keeper made a meal of that, but Tillman showed very nice athleticism in the air. Great to see him score the winner.
Rangers lead 2-0. No Sands today, but Tillman has started. Tillman scores the first Rangers goal with another far post header. His poor through ball led to a turnover which resulted in the second.
Trying to figure out if Tillman is playing more of a #10 role today behind Colak and Kent playing higher.
Yeah, I was all excited that I'd be free to watch this afternoon and see the new and improved Tillman for myself, but he looks off the pace a bit here, just like he did with the USMNT. But maybe it's the step up in competition. PSV is a legit Europa League/Champions League Group Stage team--much better than that Belgian side or the non-Celtic teams in Scotland. Edit: As I was typing this, he had a couple better touches.
Tillman gets muscled off of the ball starting a counter, but Sands steals it back after a poor touch by PSV derails the attack.
Sands has been pretty solid, though the play has mostly been in PSV's half, so he hasn't had too much defending to do.
Tillman needs to play stronger for his size. He needs to play with a bit of hunger for the ball. Right now, he is waiting for the game to come to him.
Came here to say this. For someone who is clearly a superb athlete and with decent ball skills he definitely ends up on the ground or with the ball stuck under him a good deal.
Yeah, he seems to have a good first move/first step, but then he can't fight through the physical challenge when the next defender steps into him.
First shot on goal for PSV after a corner goes in. Lucky accidental backpass from Teze to Sangare, who nails the quick finish near post.
Two one touch passes and a first touch finish to equalize. Very high quality goal that didn't include either of our guys. Colak from Tavernier from Davis.
Scotland, is Tillman's level. He's got flair and he is decent in the air but he's not even good enough for the Bundesliga.
