Attendance for the last 4 home games. The most recent one included an appearance by The Great One, which had been a draw around the league last year.

    Sunday, June 12 FC Dallas W, 2-0 8,777
Saturday, June 18 Kansas City Wizards 9,207
Sunday, June 26 Real Salt Lake 8,114
    Wednesday, June 29 D.C. United 8,202

These numbers are not good. I am very concerned.

    Don't worry, Thomas.

I'm sure with Guppy in charge, everything will turn out just fine. :) ;)

    sarcasm alert!
Yeah, but wait till they move into their own stadium. Then things will change.
For proof, take a look at Columbus.

And besides, it's only four games.

We will get a bounce from the stadium. Once that fades away the franchise might fade away with it. Maybe the MLS will too.

These attendance numbers are awful and I can't think of any way to surgarcoat it.

TF has finally broken his red nipple record from "Give little Tommy a titty twister day" in 7th grade.

Exactly how many red nipples does it take to get a guy banned?

I have no idea. If you ban enough people will you have many fans left? Do you think I care what vindictive mods and their sockpuppets think?

I don't think it matters. ToonUSA has 8 red nipples and he doesn't even have a yellow card.

Someone like aartef or jri is more in danger of being banned than Flannigan, I think.

If Chicago is going what Dallas has done this season (not advertize, saving money to have a big push for the new stadium), these numbers don't surprise me.

Also, there probably is a hangover from last season. Chicago is going to have to continue to get good results to get some of those folk back.

I don't understand the caste system but I am ashamed of it. I can see the rep system on ebay, where money is changing hands. Why have it for a sports billboard? It makes it seem more like a clique. Unfortunately, that dovetails with what lot of Americans think about soccer fans in the US.

There have been many attendance threads. I think the trend is ominous and people should not shoot the messenger. But that's just me.

They are, and they shouldn't. Although I think overall some marketing money needs to be spent...but a big campaign about the stadium being built for next year could [should] be in the works.

    Yup.

I'm not sure this constitutes news or analysis.

My experience with BigSoccer's rep system is that large amounts of positive rep is more or less meaningless. Some of it is from good posts, but much of it is from cliques and such. But with negative rep, I've yet to see a poster with any amount of red nipples that hasn't deserved it.

Deflect all you want, and act like a confused and bewildered martyr, but to proclaim your innocense is really.... Well, actually it's normal for you.

You are BigSoccer's biggest troll. Just my opinions.

    Re: Chicago Attendance Disaster Deepens

Often people with negative rep have some of the best posts (like da Cfo) because they challenge the shibboleths and dissent. But I think the rep system is shameful. If foreigners are reading this, please don't think the US is like this. Normally people with different viewpoints are tolerated.

I have heard many excuses about the lousy MLS attendance. Chicago is a case study on why the league may fail.

da cfo had negative rep because while he provided useful information, he came across as a jerk some of the time. He also stated his opinions as ironclad fact, instead of saying "I believe ..." whatever.

Rep is good, that way when someone like yourself posts absolute drivel, newbies know it's just what we've come to expect.

More lies. You know for a fact that "da cfo" was gone from BigSoccer before the rep system was added.

More lies. You also know - just by reading this very forum - that many different and often angry viewpoints are tolerated - most of the posters having positive rep. To get Voros, myself, monster, crusio, rommul to agree on anything is nary impossible.

No, Tom. The pariah is you. Look in a mirror, counsellor.

    You are BigSoccer's biggest troll

    Just my opinions.

No jackass - you making your point on one thread is a debate. Starting a whole new thread stating the same thing is being a troll. Making up lies and repeating them ad nauseum is being BigSoccer's biggest troll.

I also find it entertaining that as a lawyer you have so much time to be posting on an Internet soccer board.

Honestly - do the nails hurt? B/C you really seem to love being the martyr.

Key word - and I am surprised you even used it - is MAY. Chicago MAY fail - they may not. MLS MAY fail - they may not. WWIII MAY break out tomorrow - but it may not.
