Well, I'm assuming that hes not referring to whether a player is in heat.

To the utter shock of, well, no one at all, FIFA is having trouble selling Club World Cup tickets.

Prices going down, interest still flatlining:

    Fifa’s Ticket Dilemma
Fifa has again reduced ticket prices for next month’s Club World Cup, introducing a new, lower-priced tier. The cheapest tickets for several group stage matches–featuring the likes of Manchester City, PSG, and Inter Milan–are now around $30 or less.

Fifa is reportedly betting on the US being a late-buying market for sports events. In any case, fans may receive partial refunds if prices for equivalent seats have dropped since their purchase.

Was curious and just checked the couple Dortmund games that are being played in Cincy. They are only selling the side where the TV camera will show fans and it is 90% available. Will be interesting how low they continue to drop tickets. The Bayern Munich game down there isn't as bad, but has large entire sections available and we know they don't release all the available tickets for sale. Love to see FIFA taking this one on the chin and unless tickets get real cheap, there will be a lot of open seats across the country.

They've also just added an "if you buy a category 1 ticket for the Club cup, you get the guaranteed right to get a ticket for the real World Cup round of 32".....

Thanks, I almost pulled the trigger on the buy two get an opportunity to buy a WC match. Going to check this out. I am planning to hit the USMNT opening round games at least next year and this would help.

Im told that there are some strings.

The offer is only available if you buy a ticket package, not just one ticket.

And then - this just slays me - it only counts if you actually attend all the games in your package.

Otherwise your WC ticket is rescinded.

Thanks, that was the one I looked at a month or so back which ended. I was thinking of the Wednesday/Saturday Dortmund games in Cincy, but needing to actually go to both games killed it for me.

Thanks, took a look and maybe what you were seeing is referring to FIFA Collect which is such a scam in itself. You can spend $40 for opportunity to buy random past digital moments which then gives a random chance at winning FIFA Club World Cup tickets and the right to buy tickets for the round of 32. So you spend $40 for a chance to win a CWC ticket and right to buy round of 32 tickets. It is purely legalized gambling.

On EPL broadcasts we have "Lexis stoppage time". Why would a company advertise their product not operating?

It is FIFA Collect, but it's apparently real tickets.

No doubt they are real tickets. It is like a scratch off that you might win either real tickets to the Club World Cup, the guaranteed right to buy World Cup tickets, or you might just only get a video of Neymar doing a step over against Argentina. This is purely gambling for the opportunity to spend some more money with FIFA.

That seems to be partly true. In the new offer that just dropped, it appears you get tickets in any case, at least if I'm reading things correctly. At least the right to buy them--the tickets are not automatic as you still have to pay for them.

Found on their X account what you are referring to. They are offering various special packs of digital moments that automatically give you 2-4 CWC tickets and various options for RTB for the actual WC. Some offers are better than others as they may give you a random WC game in a city of your choice, others follow your team of choice or even a region such as Africa. Likely the higher to value of the ticket, the higher the cost will be for the pack to get into the scheme. I would caution anyone to read the details very closely as these are confusing. Interesting the FIFA collect website is down from 9AM - 9PM CET for maintenance. I wish my company let us do system maintenance in the middle of the work day. We get relegated to overnights on weekends.

It is a bit confusing, isn't it. My goal is to try to get to a single game--somewhere.

If you don't care where or who, I'm sure there will be plenty of games that fail to fill a NFL stadium and have little to no resale value. I'd just wait.

I'm really hoping to go to the Canada game in Vancouver on June 18th and then the US game in Seattle on the 19th. If exchange rates hold, staying in Canada would be the smart move. I know it's an expensive idea, I just hope it's reasonably expensive and not crazy expensive. I'm losing faith by the day.

I hope you are right. I am kind of with @kgilbert78 and @LaMacchia, as I am hoping to attend one match, it doesn't matter who or where (well, in the US or Canada).

There are more matches this time, and in more stadiums, but in 1994 average attendance was 68,000. And with the boom in soccer's popularity here in the US since then, who knows.

In 1994 I attended one match, the US v Switzerland in Detroit. Was very fun. Had a perfect view of Wynalda's free kick goal right before halftime, and was also cool seeing the grass inside the Silverdome. Well, I shouldn't say 'cool' as it was rather warm in there, as the Silverdome did not have air conditioning. (I had been to the Silverdome multiple times before that for Lions games).

But yes, there were seats available in 1994 for some matches. Smallest attended match was 44,132 at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas for Nigeria v Bulgaria (about 19K or so short of capacity).

The odd part about that World Cup were that upper deck seats were the top category by FIFA's way of thinking. Me? I was the lowest category--yet was 5 rows from the field in the corner (where Wynalda scored)..
