Still doesn't make it good. Just means that it's a way of shoehorning the English schedule where it doesn't work.

Sure does. That is a tiny fraction of the league’s revenue though.

Of the Scandinavians, only Denmark has such a schedule.

FTR, of the nations in UEFA, Belarus, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Georgia, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, the Republic of Ireland, and Sweden all have summer schedules. (As do the J-League, the K-League, the Chinese Superleague, and the leagues of central Asian nations of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan).

Not heavy-hitters, sure, but those UEFA nations account for about one-fifth of their members.

    Just sayin.’

Sounding like the wheels have been turning for a while.

The Austrian calendar would be the most analogous to what MLS does, but there's only 12 teams.

If this is the new plan ...

    - Feels like an admittance that shutting down the league for the last few weeks before kids go back to school ... (and NFL/CFB start) ... isn't a winning long-term strategy.

    - Move one of the group round home games to Cleveland to scratch the Haslams' itch on that.

    - Have a discount ticket plan for early rounds in place weeks ahead for local students, those on season ticket holder wait list, etc.

It will be a tough ticket sell, if it's not a forced purchase as part of STH plans and if the Crew already have several home games in the CCC.

EPL regular season (38 games) vs MLS regular season (34 games)
FA Cup vs US Open Cup
    League Cup vs Leagues Cup
UEFA CL vs CONCACAF Champions Cup

    ...maybe it's not entirely far-fetched.

it might be because MLS has to shut down for a bit because several training facilities and stadia are being used for the CWC and Gold Cup. It's speculated that MLS has to shut down for 7-10 days.

FYI, Fifa also announced international breaks will not count for teams in the CWC during the CWC. That only really affects the Gold Cup. Right now, only Gio and Cole Campbell would be affected for the US player pool.

Gio will be hurt and Campbell has one or two pro appearances at this point, so that’s fairly irrelevant.

Since the new ethic around here is apparently to be a whiny Karen, I'd just like to say that this " win Nancy's signature" thing is a) a commercial appeal and b) being posted in multiple threads.

Both.of which are violations of the rules. It's acceptable to post it once but after that it's a no no.

    But I'm nobody.

I was wondering where Twellman was at during Game 3 of the Miami v Atlanta series. Seemed weird that he wasn't calling a Messi match, especially a Game 3 in the playoffs.

Forgive me for my cynicism, but I’m to the point where I believe nothing that comes out of MLS’ and FIFA’s mouth regarding this. They’re all trying to cover themselves for a decision that has received criticism and media attention. Neither organization has a great track record for transparency.
