YOU FORGOT CLUB TIJUANA XOLOITZCUINTLES!! (Mexican Hairless Dogs!!) Yeah, some interesting names. Gallos Blancos de Queretaro (White Roosters.) Cementeros de Cruz Azul (Blue Cross Cement Makers; C.A. is a cement company—NOT CONCRETE, btw...) Los Tuzos de Pachuca (Gophers) Los Camoteros de Puebla (Sweet Potatoers) Los Caneros de Zacatepec (Sugar Caners) Los Jaibos de Tampico Modero (Blue Crabs)
Instead of “white roosters” can we loosely translate that to “cracker cocks”? Lol... I’ll see myself out.
The best club Rugby in the world is a merger of 4 countries in a franchise arrangement, and really one of those is a token (they just dropped another token) - though they're really pretty good.

Joe Buck reports that Fox Sports plans on using recorded crowd noise and virtual fans in the stands to enhance NFL broadcasts from empty stadiums. I can't decide whether this is an awful idea, or whether I'd want to see it done for soccer games.
Actually, what if you allowed all of the fans to use a microphone from their homes to sing/chant/cheer and that gets broadcast? The only issue I can see is FCC fines.
FCC only regulates language for OTA broadcast channels. All other language regulation / parameters are set in private agreements between cable / distribution companies and their content providers. If ESPN airs cursing, they may face fines from local cable channels due to a private agreement, but not from the FCC or US.
With or without vuvuzelas? Let's go full surreal and use canned sitcom audience noises. I am of two minds here. On one hand, the absence of crowd noise takes away from the 'group' experience and added emotional element. But on the other hand, it would be neat to hear the players and coaches chirping to see what all is being said during the game.
I say create a fan centered experience for games, where actual fans get to call the play-by-play. Then the broadcast could jump from fan to fan throughout the game to hear what they're saying about the play and the tactics. It could be pure gold and pure sh!t but might engage more viewers if fans knew they might show up on the broadcast.
Didn't they used to do something like that for one weekly Premiership match replay each week? Maybe they still do. They'd get one insane fan from each team and record them watching the game, screaming at the players, screaming insults at each other, singing the songs, going crazy when one of their guys scored and abusing the refs. It was great fun. Can't remember what it was called.
They did and I stole the idea from the that. I basically would prefer the comedy of fans doing the play by play over the Crew’s broadcast team. In fact, maybe they would get more fans watching the replays of games if they did this with the replays. Hell...make a competition to submit bits for broadcast of big moments I. Big games.
Today I learned...that. In addition, they could face the wrath of angry people (more likely, people pretending to be angry) threatening to boycott sponsors.
EPL FanZone. I wrote about it above. People in England had the opportunity to watch it live via their Sky Digital red button. USA viewers had a slightly condensed broadcast of our 11am Sunday game at either 10:30 or 11:30pm Thursday. And yeah, it was absolute lunacy.
The PBP guys have sounded like Madden/NCAA video game robots for years so they should just pipe that in too.
Hmmmm....maybe put John Madden and Gus Johnson in a room together and let them do PbP? I wonder if you could find a worse combination. Not when Jack Edwards and Ty Keough could compare...could they?

Two of Marino's friends and teammates also showed up late that day but did not have any excuse to provide. They were, however, snickering to themselves about something...
Some more details regarding the 2022 World Cup were announced. Games at 5am, 8am, 11am and 2pm for us east coast viewers. Four games per day in the group stage. The exception is the final round of group stage matches when games will be at 10am and 2pm. https://soccer.nbcsports.com/2020/0...-start-date-fixtures-kick-off-times-released/
I will not be surprised if the World Cup gets pushed back, simply due to challenges in completing qualifying.
