somebody posted up the link to that site on ebaums world.. thought it would go down a storm on this forum.
Re: Random Chatter (quick take) Just a comment about The Right Stuff--the reasons why they went down to this area were (1) the movie producers were local and (2) the homes they filmed were reminiscent of those in Virginia (or Florida--I forget) back in the 1960s. Even so, the street was closed off during filming back in 1982... no one could pass through that block, even pedestrians--it was a major passageway for a lot of the kids growing up at that time... At that time, those houses could be a throwback... The only other movie that put the place on the map was Dangerous Minds, and they had to cordon off the high school for a few days while getting the shots for that movie. Nah... everyone here wants to get a cut of the movie revenue--a lot of the inconvenience is worth the prestige for the locals... As of late, most of the filming has shifted to Vancouver, Canada for fiscal reasons... The big pisser is the Chris Isaak Show is filmed there, and not in SF!!!!!!!!!
Re: Random Chatter (quick take) star trek- wrath of kahn was done in the local daly city studio. and here is a scene from the 2001 film "sweet november" 166 Santa Cruz Avenue at Guadalupe in Daly City ooooooooohhhhhhh
That's "ghetto" territory... though that neighborhood consists of urban professionals, hispanics, and Asians. Right near the subway station...
